CBS News faced new charges of journalistic impropriety on Tuesday, a day after the network said it regretted using questionable documents in a report challenging President Bush's military service. At issue was a report in USA Today that the source of the documents gave them to CBS only after the network agreed to arrange a conversation between the source and the presidential campaign of Bush's opponent, Democratic Sen. John Kerry.
Stay tuned folks...looks like we're in for continued amusement with c-BS/Ratherbiased and the DNC

CBS may have overstepped the boundary between journalism and politics. The network said it would investigate the matter.
ROTFLOL I can just hear them:
Did you do it?
Nope.
Did YOU do it?
Nope.
Know who did?
Nope.
OK The trail is cold. We'll have to call the case closed...

....and we have certainly never done that and we've got the documents to prove...er... oops!

We need to make a list of questions that need to be followed up on this story.
Here's mine:
1) Why did they say the source was reliable when they knew Burkett was anything but reliable?
2) Why did they publish only four documents when they received six fake documents? Did they have document experts who said the other two were obviously phony?
3) why did they dismiss the widow and son of the man who supposedly wrote the memos.
4) Why did they think Staudt would be involved 18 months after he retired?
5) Who is Lucy Ramirez?
6) Why did Mapes ask Lockhart to contact Burkett?
7) Why haven't they asked Kerry about his missing military records?
I'm sure there are a lot more questions to ask.

Bush has never fully accounted for his service during the Vietnam War, when he was given a coveted place in the National Guard while many of his peers were drafted and sent to fight in VietnamThis is what really burns me about ALL media (even ours, sometimes) - the thoughtless, ill-fact-checked cut-and-paste from Lexis/Nexis of garbage that has been proven wrong 15 times in just the last two weeks.

Don't know about you, but I fell over laughing at that one!
But, ya know, it's the Clintonesque defense; use the Big Lie. So folks will say, "oh it can't possibly be a lie, it's so obviously a lie".
Think it's called hiding in plain sight.

These guys are living clowns! Between Rather and Burkett and Lockhart and F'n Kerry, it occurs to me that this whole farce is ripe for a comedy film - low-budget, hastily-produced to get it out by the end of October. It would be LMAO funny and perfectly factual at the same time, it would bury the Demonrats in derision, and it would make Fahrenheit 9-11 perfectly forgetable. I mean, you can't make up material funnier than this! (I'd call it "Dumb and Dumber and Dumberer and Dumberest")

....there is an interesting and very telling problem that the Dems and Mapes/C-BS seem to have regarding the early efforts by C-BS to "protect their source" [Burkett] in this story, a story aimed at discrediting a sitting President in an election year with the intent to effect a Presidential election through fraud .... C-BS protected it's "source" vigorously from everyone in the early days of this story, except for a brief lapse when they [CBS producer Mapes] revealed that "source" to Joe Lockhart at the Kerry Campaign when she hooked Lockhart up with Burkett for a little chat....
Be assured that this story has real legs and will eventually reveal the truth for all to see... this little problem is but one of the many roads that will lead back to the Dems/Kerry... Further be assured that when the truth is eventually revealed, and it will, it will not show well for the Dems/Kerry or C-BS.... When the indictments start hitting the deck, and eventually they will in this matter... just watch how many "dimes are dropped" and how much "squealing" each of the "bit players" engage as they start giving up the "big boys" to save their own hides... It appears the lying bastards at CBS have now taken the "no comment" stance..
THAT is precisely the stance they SHOULD have taken BEFORE they "produced" their forged document hit piece...
American's pajama clad "morons" are smart enough to reprogram their remotes to eliminate all stops on CBS affiliates..
