Well, yeah, but hype or not -- this is about as obvious as the proverbial proportionally-spaced writing on the wall. I don't think the question is "if", but "when".

O.K. President Bush - it's time to say the hell with the "feelings" of the Arab street and turn the military loose in Iraq.....shoot first, ask questions later. No more beheadings, no more military ambused.

Were they actually seen (as in, with eyes), or just speculated to be planning? I hate headlines...

How many attacks have been stopped that you don't know about?

And how likely is it that when AQ sees we've ramped out our security, they fall back and wait? I'd say about 100%.

Ran Across this a while back...(yes I know...more number plays):

""We're either closer to a geopolitical adjustment (i.e., reducing our (sinking) Middle Eastern footprint), or just that much closer to 911 (the sequel), which I've been predicting as 9/27 (i.e., 9/9, i.e., 9=9=18; i.e., 1=8 = 9). Again, 9/27 will be the 1111st day since 911"

Keep dreaming, it's not going to happen under Bush's watch. He's too much into the "religion of peace" belief to allow for the mass killing of Arabs.

Kerrry probably thinks his appeasement policy would make him safe on inauguration day if he were to be elected.

BUT the terrorists are licking their lips at the thought.

The fact is we are fighting a very effective war - Our soldiers, our Marines and our shooters are killing the enemy daily and nightly.

This is a tough war. We knew that going in. This is a different kind of war. We are not at war with the people of Iraq. We are at war with the terrorists within them.

Does that make it hard. Unbelievably so, at many times. The answer is not to bomb and bomb. That is foolishness.

The answer to to be systematic, deliberate and unconventional at the same time.

We are doing that. In both Iraq and Afghanistan.

We are winning this war. Freedom and self-worth will soon be our new allies emerging within the Middle East that help our soldiers on the ground.

How many non-existent upcoming attacks has Gertz hyped?

How many upcoming attacks has he hyped, that have been quietly terminated?

"W" said there'd be victories we'd never hear about.

I'm wondering if it's not going to be sooner.

IIRC, the "trigger" for the September 11, 2001 attacks was the assasination of Massood.

Given today's assasination of the Sheite clerics in Iraq (probably to ferment a civil war), I wonder if there isn't going to be more coming very soon.

If the polls are close they will avoid attacking the U.S. directly because they know this will cause the public rally around the President, instead they will increase attack abroad and in particular in Iraq in an effort to sway the election in their favor (i.e. getting Kerry elected.) If it becomes clear that President Bush will win re-election then there will be a greater chance of an attack here in the U.S.

We have to be realistic.

If Kerry looks like a winner than al-Qaeda would logically hold off until after the election. With Bush now looking like the winner, the same logic says go to plan B and attack the U.S. and hope it will have a positive effect for Kerry.
