You do have one thing right, Dan will not retire now but after the election. No liberal ever admits guilt and does the honorable thing and steps down. He will quietly retire after the election. The liberal media will never have an admission of guilt. They will keep lying, deceiving and never admit their guilt.

Be careful when you're dealing with a certified nut case ... he can turn on you.

I hope he does.

But ... wonder if any money changed hands???

Burkett's bitterness originated with his failure to get benefits for which he blamed (who else?)Bush.

But thanks to my personal history with Charles, I don't trust him or his motives as far as I can throw him.

I applaud Ken Charles for responding to the volume of KPRC listener feedback against CBS and Dan Rather. However, I agree completely with your assessment of Charles's character and motives. I get the distinct impression that Ken Charles' code of ethics begins and ends with ratings and nothing else.

and remember, his attorney already came out and said (paraphrasing)...'he does not trust ANY news sources and won't be responding'

He was already feeling the heat, IMO...there's more to this story and just burkett.

"I trusted Max Cleland. In retrospect, I should have seen the story had no legs."

Which is why journalists never make good sprinters, Dan.

I'll only be satisfied if Rather resigns.

That would be justice, but these are RATS aren't they?

The absolute best scenario for our side is if they decide to axe Mary Mapes. She would represent yet another lowly female squashed by a powerful (Democrat) male.

The plotters at CBS are calculating that, unlike if Rather were a Republican, there will be no uproar from the feminists, it's my opinion that they will continue to underestimate the new dynamic they face, they will fire Mapes, and it will be a BIG mistake, because of the message it will send to all women who VOTE.

I AGREE- We already know it's the work of the DNC- Burkett is one of their main plants in TX. I don't know why this isn;t bigger news than just Rather 'n Co(conspirators)

Dan will not retire now but after the election.

Right after Dan calls the election a landslide for the President.

KPRC, is about about as phoney a conservative radio station has you can get. It's major host (right after Rush) is a complete idiot and jerk. KSEV 700, dumped it's network news for Fox months ago. KPRC is just grand standing as it copies KSEV every move.

As DFU pointed out, all it would really take to end the scandal would be for CBS to be somewhat evenhanded between now and election day. Imagine the SBVfT being given the same credence as that 86-yo secretary!

'Course without the journalism wind it its back, the Kerry campaign would disappear without a trace . . .

How true!

Would it not be WILD to see CBS or ABC or NBC doing a full story on EXACTLY why Kerry will NOT RELEASE his full military records?

Or to watch um inform the American people of the book kerry wrote called ' The New Soldier ' that has an upside down American Flag on the cover, and a group of anti-vietnam vets mocking the statue of the Marines at Iwo Jima?

Or......how about if they ONLY talked about his SENATE VOTING RECORD.

Geee...now THERE is an idea....LOL!

Hmmmmm....think CBS has the right to present itself as a news organization, ever again, if they DO NOT begin to tell the historys of BOTH CANDIDATES-the good, the bad and the ugly? I sure do not.

The source of the 11:00 time was CBS News.
Why are you surprised that we haven't heard yet? :)

Darn I'm really sorry to hear that. Hope you've found greener pastures.
