If I hadn't seen it for myself I wouldn't have believed it. Living on the west side of the Cascade mountains not far from Seattle I am accustomed to seeing Kerry/Edwards signs practically everywhere.
My husband and I went to the Puyallup Fair which is one of the largest in the country and draws thousands. Under the grandstand there were the Democrat and Republicans booths handing out yard signs, stickers etc. After spending all day and night at the fair I can tell you that 8 out of 10 fair goers who were making a political statement were either wearing or carrying a Bush/Cheney sign. Even more surprising was that most were young people. Even a few vendors had Bush/Cheney stickers on their tables. I did not see one vendor with a Kerry/Edwards sticker.
This is a nationwide trend.
That would be wonderful...
I noticed the same thing at the Minnesota State Fair, I was there on a day that drew over 100,000 and Bush/Cheney buttons beat Kerry/Edwards 3 to 1 or so. Could be because the fair was heavy on families/married folks, a good demographic for the GOP.
If you think Soviet Seattle will go for Bush/Cheney, you're dreaming.
This state is so incredibly liberal. They have a statue of Lenin in Seattle and signs in office windows supporting the terrorists, I can't remember the last time our electoral votes went for a Republican president.
Don't mean to rain on your picnic (it's raining here in Bellevue now) but the last poll from last week had Kerry by I think 8 here.
For all you non-Washingtonians, it rains here all the time which may explain why Seattle is so liberal.
Having lived most of my life in WA state until 1990, I can only say that I hope so. Am very disappointed in my home state, how leftist it has become. Last polls I saw up there had Kerry up by 10 points though.
Lots of government union workers, and Seattle is hopeless. A statue of Lenin there, give me a break!
But, the Western Washington fair is always a good time.
I really don't think the fair being family oriented would make that much of a difference. I sure happy about what I saw though.
Thanks for reminding me why I've never thought about visiting there.
Seattle won't, but the rest of the state leans right.
Wow, that's scary...before you know it your state religion will be Islam! Scary S***!
Its not called the San Francisco of the Pacific Northwest for nothing. Must be all that rain. LOL
Seattle won't, but perhaps enough of the rest of the state will this time.
I love the bumper sticker, "Don't Be A Girlieman, Vote for Bush". Has Arnie's smiling face on the side.
ping
Don't say state. It's the freeks in and around Seattle not the rest of the state !
Yea, it's tough going up to Seattle. I avoid it, but sometimes I just have to go. In some ways I enjoy it, but those people are crazy up there.
You're right especially when our senator Patty Murray talks to the school children about all the good things Osama bin Laden has done.
