Fox News, 'Breaking Point' to report on UN Oil For Food Scandal
Fox News Channel | Sept. 19/04 9pm Eastern

Posted on 09/19/2004 5:10:13 PM PDT by ArmyBratproud

I have seen some preview spots on this show. It should be good. They supposedly speak of the connection between the UN Oil For Food scandal and the possible funding of terrorism.

The story was absolutely sickening. Explains alot about the reaction before and during the war from the "world community". And John Kerry wants to give more responsibility to the UN? That is more than enough to make him "unfit to command".

I just finished "Treachery" Bill Gertz latest book. Describes some of teh UN scandal in that as well as the proliferation of arms around the globe. French made weapons being shipped into Iraq as the War was going on. Russian adn Syrian arms flowing in as teh war was going on. 2 Russian generals receiving Medals from Saddam Hussein for their help w/ Baghadad defenses and arms deals. Talks about how the CIA and State are too risk adverse to confront proliferators. Good read, short and too the point.

All of this just really shows that we are all the world has. If we don't keep this country strong we are back to the dark ages...... We are the last hope for the world!

CNN has a reporter who is advertised as a big shot reporter to cover the UN. (license to open all doors says CNN)

If I remember correctly, CNN hosts, James Carville, and Paul Begala went to work for Kerry a few weeks ago and CNN has no problem with them staying on the air.

Peggy Noonan, a Bush adviser took a leave from the Wall Street Journal.

I'm isolated from Fox. Did they say or imply oil for food was funding the insurgency or is that your inference? Not a subtle flame, it's just that I can't watch.

Sounded to me like that's what was concluded. May have been a bit of a question mark, but not much.

I think they said it pretty directly... One man apologized the US Military for the death and injury suffered.

Oh PLEASE tell me they will blatantly cover this nugget!

NIX TO BLIX: ...The second has been the failure to implement Congress's Iraq Liberation Act - which was supposed to fund the overthrow of the dictator by native opposition groups. President Bill Clinton signed the 1998 act which was supposed to invest $97 million in this project. Apparently only $20,000 has been disbursed to the opposition groups - enough to buy some basic office supplies. The London office of the Iraqi National Congress, the main democratic opposition group, shut down at the end of last year...

You got that right. The lefties and socialists are the ones who are making the bucks from the oil and pretending that the bad old capitalists are ruining the world for trying to make some money on legitimate business.

"Annan refused a taped interview for this program."

One thread ran throughout the entire documentary (that's a factual news story BTW, Mr Rather) - Oil-For-Food Money was and is being used by Islamic terrorists to kill Americans!

And who were the Big Three suspects? Why Russia, France, and China - the three permanent members of the UN Security Council who fought tooth and nail to keep us from invading Iraq. These three benefited in the BILLIONS from what? From Oil-For-Food money.

Let the chips fall where they may. But we have got to kick those SOBs off our soil. They plot to kill us while we pay their electric bill. Just like they used the money we gave them to feed starving children in Iraq and are now using the (remaining) BILLIONS to bribe corruption and terrorism from the highest places in French, Russian, Chinese and UN government offices.

Putin is not exempt. Chirac certainly isn't. And Kofi and his son should be the only ones not kicked out of NYC - they should both be thrown in prison.

It was a refreshingly BLISTERING account of corruption ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP (that means YOU - Kofi) of the (un)United Nations - BTT.

Oil For Food = Weapons For The Islamic Jihad on America!!

"But it was the weasels who scuppered any return to business-as-usual. Messrs Chirac and de Villepin barely paused for breath before moving on from their pre-war sabotage programme to a revised post-war sabotage programme."

"Do you think his lawyers will speak French?"

Don't sweat it Saddam, your lawyers on his way, and your punk Chirac has already said he's willing to post the bail.

The United Nations Wants to TAX you!

Taxation

"Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali ... urged the [UN] to consider imposing its own taxes to become less dependent on the United States...."

-Washington Times, January 16, 1996

Are you concerned that...
...numerous taxation schemes to finance the UN are being considered?

Economist James Tobin proposed in 1972 that the UN be the recipient of a tax of 0.05% on foreign exchange transactions. In 1993, the Ford Foundation produced Financing an Effective United Nations, a report containing recommendations that the UN tax airline traffic, shipping, and arms sales. In 1995, the UN-funded Commission on Global Governance suggested that the UN collect levies from those who use "flight lanes, sea lanes for ships, ocean fishing areas, and the electromagnetic spectrum." Ultimately, of course, the burden of all taxation falls on consumers.

Are you concerned that...
...a State Department study specifically proposed giving the UN taxing power and, ultimately, control of the world?

In 1962, the State Department financed a study entitled "A World Effectively Controlled by the United Nations." The report outlined what would be needed for such a total world government: "a mandatory universal membership," an ability to use "physical force," and "compulsory jurisdiction" of its courts. One of the UN's "principle features," stated the report, would be "enforceable taxing powers." (Emphasis added.)

Are you concerned that...
...no matter how much our nation gives, the UN will never be satisfied?

In addition to hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars in foreign aid, our nation has provided the UN with tens of billions more for its programs since 1945. Currently, U.S. contributions make up 25% of the UN's annual budget. But, in his May 2001 speech at Notre Dame University, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan complained with a typical anit-American attitude, "It is shameful that the United States ... should be one of the least generous in terms of helping the world's poor."

Are you concerned that...
...taxing authority would fuel an unaccountable UN Superstate?

Former UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali said of a UN tax: "We would no be under the daily financial will of member states who are unwilling to pay up." UN Founder Harlan Cleveland made the same point in Futures: Rather than relying on "the worn-out policy of year-to-year decisions by individual governments" (about how much to give the UN), "what's needed is a flow of funds for development which are generated automatically under international control." And there would be no Congress to limit the UN's appetite for your tax dollars!

Property Rights

The United Nations Wants to Take Your Land!
"Private land ownership ... contributes to social injustice.... Public control of land use is therefore indispensable."

- United Nations "Habitat I" Conference Report, 1976

And Kerry wants to place America's national security at the feet of France and the UN.

Watch his nuance change as this report begins to seep into the sheeples psycho..
