Holy Father,

May all the nations You have made come and worship before You, O Lord, that they may bring glory to Your Name. For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You alone are God. Open to us the gates of righteousness, that we may enter through them and give thanks to You. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to us, Father, that we may receive His gift of eternal life. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let Your glory be over all the earth.

Father, as we come home from our churches and places of worship, we are reminded of how blessed we are to live in the United States of America. Thank You for the freedom we have to worship You and to proclaim Your Word as truth. Father, we know our nation is flawed, but we ask that You would help each of us to do our part to bring it in line with Your perfection. We need You, Father, and it is our desire that Your Name would be exalted in every corner of America. Father, please help our President to continue to keep his eyes lifted up. Help him to never lower his gaze upon the clamor and rumblings especially in this politically charged election season, but instead may he seek the peace and beauty of the heavens and Your face. Make his prayers to You special times of fellowship and communion. May his heart be so inclined to Yours that he gains the confidence of knowing that he is victorious because he believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Help him to understand that Your power and ability are his strength.

Father, we pray today for upcoming debates involving our President and Senator Kerry. We ask that our President would speak with Your wisdom and that he would be a faithful representative of Your Kingdom. We ask You to give him the words to speak in response to any question he is asked. We pray for Senator Kerry and ask that he would submit his heart to Your leading. We pray that both men would conduct themselves in a manner so that the American people may see the clear distinctions between the two agendas. May the debates focus on issues of importance and not on the tired arguments of the past.

We ask also, Father, that Your will would be done in each of our troops who are serving, whether in Iraq, Afghanistan, or on any other foreign or domestic soil. Grant that each one would be blessed beyond measure for their service in the cause of freedom, and show them the glory You have prepared for those who follow You.

Father, we ask that Your people would pray for those in distress because of the hurricanes. Grant hope to those who have lost family, homes, and businesses. Make each of us instruments of Your peace, Father, so that we may reach out to those around us who need the assurance that someone cares and is willing to help.

Father, help us to never be plagued with lukewarmness in our Christian walk. Make our hearts fertile with Your teachings so that our prayers may produce much fruit. Hear us this day, O Lord, as we pray in the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. May His Name be glorified both now and forevermore! Amen.

If my people's hearts are humbled,
If they pray and seek my face;
If they turn away from evil,
I will not withhold my grace.
I will hear their prayers from heaven.
I will pardon every sin.
If my people's hearts are humbled,
I will surely heal their land.

Then my eyes will see their sorrow.
Then my ears will hear their plea.
If my people's hearts are humbled,
I will set their nation free.
If my people's hearts are humbled,
If they pray and seek my face,
If they turn away from evil,
I will not withhold my grace. (Text - Claire Cloninger)

O God, You are our Creator, our Sustainer, our Eternal Father and we can but bow before You, seeking to serve You according to Your will.

We continue in prayer for our President, who is being attacked with a viciousness we have never before seen. Let truth, Your Truth, fixed and irrefutable, shed light on the politics of today. We yearn for the days when political differences were about issues and ideas, not these bitter, venomous attempts to destroy good people. Fill our President with peace and calm and pour out Your wisdom upon him that he may continue to focus on pleasing You and on leading our nation. Walk with him daily and lead him down the path of righteousness. Watch over him and his family and protect them from their enemies.

Bless our armed forces, Lord, as they carry out their duties, whether at home or abroad. Heal those who have been injured in battle; bring peace and comfort to the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Forgive us, O Lord, for standing by and letting the forces of darkness gain such power in our nation. Now that we are awakened to their evil purposes, strengthen us and guide us in the fight to return our nation to one that values morality, personal responsibility and accountability, a reverence for life, and the recognition that You are our Sovereign Lord, Almighty, Merciful, and Majestic. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you for posting a daily prayer thread for our President. One of my prayers for our President is that he has a clear head and wisdom to make the tough decision that he needs to make. I also feel the need to pray for the outcome about the upcoming debates with his opponent.

Amen, Faith. Thanks.

Lord God Almighty, there is nothing too difficult for You. As we labor we rest in the finished works of Christ, rejoicing in the immutable victory You have wrought for us.

Lord, again I bring Iraq and Afghanistan to Your throne. It is imperative that democracy sees victory in these two nations, or the war on terrorism will lose momentum and fall into deep confusion at great cost in innocent life. There also will be terrible consequences to our national elections. Believing it to be in Your will, we ask for favor and good success in our endeavors there. Be our troops' ever present help in time of need. Help the people of good will to achieve a just society. Put down those who work toward their own misguided ends.

Father God, I agree with my brethren that the debates are the next important focus of the presidential campaign. We ask, then, that the Spirit of Truth be unleashed on those evenings, that words would not be successfully used to lie or obscure, that the people would be granted discernment to see behind the words to the motivations of the hearts. May the true character of the two men be clearly on display. May false visions and ear-tickling be cast to the ground in shame, but may true vision and sound thinking be exalted. Be glorified on those nights, dear Lord.

Be with Your intercessors here, to heal and to guide. Comfort all who grieve in Zion, for Your Name's sake.

Who is it that overcomes the world?
Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Thank you, Faith. You are a great example to the rest of us.

We have seen in recent months, Father, the unrelenting slander of our great President. We thank you that you have made this to backfire. The slanders will undoubtedly continue, Father. We ask that you persist in making them backfire.

Romans 8:28,
Father.
Apply it again and again for our President.

In Christ's Name we do so pray.

Amen to your beautiful prayer, Faith. Thank you, Dear Lord, for allowing us to gather to praise Your name.

We ask your blessings on President Bush, his family, and his administration.

We ask your blessings on our great military men and women who are making the sacrifice to protect this great country we live in. We ask that they would be reunited with their families safely, soon.

We ask your blessings on the people who have lost their home and belongings in hurricanes. We pray that they will be able to get their lives back together and that no more harm would come to them.

We ask these blessings in Your Son's Precious Name, Amen.

Father, as we pray for the Spirit of Truth to have His way in the debates, so we pray that He would have His way in our personal walks with you. Open for us doors of utterance and give us boldness and words that our enemies are unable to refute. We pray for mercy for the people in our nation to have that glorious gift of faith that enables them to see their need for Jesus. Thank you, Lord of the Harvest, for an outpouring of grace.

Amen.
