DOJ Probing Claims Of Voter Intimidation By Florida Officers
Senators Call For Investigation
POSTED: 10:50 pm EDT September 17, 2004

WASHINGTON -- The Justice Department is investigating claims that Florida law enforcement officers intimidated elderly black voters during a voting fraud probe.

The fraud probe involved Orlando's mayoral race last spring.

Democrat's Buddy Dyer's narrow win sparked accusations that a black activist may have improperly filled out absentee ballots.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents interviewed dozens of absentee voters.

Civil rights groups and Democrats say the agents' presence and the displaying of their guns intimidated the minority voters they visited. But the FDLE denies any intimidation occurred.

Democratic Sens. Bob Graham, of Florida, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, of New York, are among those who've demanded an investigation.

Are they stupid enough to not have armed personnel at the polling places? I hope not...

If they're on duty, law enforcement officers are required to carry their weapons. As long as they didn't wave them in anybody's face, these people have nothing to complain about.

Shrillary should have better things to do. With Bubbbba getting a new charge on the battery, he'll be on the prowl soon.

Hi All-

Were the police twirling their guns around like Doc Holliday & Johnny Ringo of Tombstone movie fame? "I'll be your huckleberry..."

Police Officer's wearing guns? What's the world coming to! I guess these fools expect to see a spitball straw poking out of their shirt pocket instead of a pistol on their belt.

How many times (Like GWB's TANG Service) are they going to recycle this?

Not FR-posters, but the people who keep printing it every few weeks, to keep it in the MSM.

First they charged "intimidation" at the polls; NOW they are charging "intimidation" during the investigation of the original "intimidation" allegations.

Actully, these charges were (and much, if not all, of this article was published weeks ago in FL media) made quite some time ago.

MSM recycled "news".

Displaying their badges probably intimidated anyone thinking of committing fraud also.

Hope they keep up the good work, but we've got to get out and vote.

Remember, if it's not close the democrat machine can't cheat.

The presence of law enforcement officers often has the effect of intimidating criminals. I'm sure that Clinton Administration holdovers don't approve ...
