I strongly suspect that she was involved. That would partially explain Danny-boy's stonewalling.

The Travis County democrap club was established as the source of this stuff from the beginning here at FR. She is still politically active in Austin and knows this guy. It's all wound up in a neat package.
It was here that rather spoke at a fundraiser for his daughter and the Travis County democraps...

There were some posts mentioning that his daughter is thinking about running for mayor of Austin. Not sure if it's in the same county as this fundraiser was held in though.

As several people have pointed out, CBS is not taking all
this heat to protect Burkett (assuming he's actually
directly involved - the memos are clearly based on his
traditional rantings). Burkett is expendable. Even though
clearly a Dem partisan, he can be spun as certifiable.
So who/what is more important to protect than the guy
presently about to take the fall, Grima Rathertongue?

I've been thinking the same thing for the last few days. Daddy's little girl would certainly be "impeachable" to his eyes and I am sure he'd do whatever it takes to protect her.

Austin is in Travis County, over 200 miles from Bill Burkett's home and the infamous Kinko's, 20 miles from there. But Burkett's lawyer, David Van Os, was the Travis County chair of the Democratic party. He also ran for Texas State chair of the Democratic party. Interestingly, the head of his steering committee during that run was Bill Burkett. So Burkett is involved in State politics. Also, he says that the three times!? he saw document trashing for Bush was in Austin, so I think he used to spend a lot more time there before getting so sick and crazy.
CBS has to release the source of this story. If it's Dan Rather's daughter (quite possible) that's embarrassing. If it's Burkett via his lawyer Van Os (Hey Bill, check out these documents we all thought were destroyed and tell me what you think), that could be fatal to the DNC and Kerry.

Dan Rather had his Jimmy Carter moment.
Jimmy got his talking points for the debate with Reagan from his daughter, Amy.
Looks like Dan got his talking points from his daughter and look-alike.......egad!

The thing that stands out the most in those forgeries is why pick such a stupid PO Box? I find it interesting that it is the box for Ashland Chemical Company. Who would have the address to this company readily available to place on a forgery? How about an environmental activist who is worried about clean air and water. Mini-Rather is very active in TX environmental activism. I bet she has a list of offenders with their addresses on her computer at home. If anyone in FR land knows of her specific activities with Save Our Springs Alliance, Hill Country Conservancy, Clean Air Force, etc... in TX and any run-ins they may have had with this company, or if this co. is on the watch list of these groups---this could be interesting information. I also would be interested in the labor/civil rights lawyer Van Os and legal actions he or firms he works for could have taken against the company. It may be a goose chase, but I have a feeling the use of this particular address is very odd. Just some thoughts.

She is certainly Rather's link to the corrupt Texas Democrats whose dinner he attended.
But neither one of them did this without the full knowledge and guidance of the Powers that Be in the Democrat party. This was part of something much larger. I'm sure CBS was involved with it right up to the top, and the Democrat operators were involved with it right up to Terry McAuliffe, and that the clintons were in it, and the other liberal media moguls who orchestrate these things.
He could out his own daughter, if necessary, but he can't afford to out the Big Guys.

Robin Rather has more than 20 years of experience in the high tech field as a senior executive at Mindwave Research, Reality Research, CMP Media (publishers of Information Week and Internet Week), IntelliQuest and International Data Corporation.
Robin also serves as an environmentalist and community activist. She is a Vice President of the Hill Country Conservancy, on the advisory board of Environmental Defense, and Director of Research and Communications for Liveable City. Previously she was elected three times as Chair of the Save our Springs Alliance.

From Day 1 I've been saying this is the only reason Dan is sticking to this story and taking CBS down with him: he doesn't want to reveal that it is his daughter who is involved. He's protecting her.

It makes sense to believe that Robin is involved with Rathergate. Why else would Dan be so willing to go down with the ship? To protect his daughter of course. I don't think he would do it to protect some angry x-guard guy in Texas. IMHO
