Politics in Gainesville turned rough and tumble Thursday night when, police say, a social behavior sciences instructor - a Democrat - punched the chairman of the Alachua County Republican Executive Committee in the face.
David Philip McCally, 55, of Gainesville faces misdemeanor battery and criminal mischief charges after he was accused of hitting both committee chairman Travis Horn, 32, and a life-sized, cardboard cutout of President George Bush.
The incident occurred at the Republican headquarters in downtown Gainesville at about 7:30 p.m.

These people are just like the Nazi's I've read about all these years and heard about from my folks who grew up in WWII Germany. The difference is that they're not in charge and armed. Otherwise I'm sure "KrystalNacht" would be right around the corner. Keep your weapons clean and your magazines full. It's going to get a whole lot worse than that, and especially so after the Bush win in November.

Pro Kerry brownshirts hard at work. The Democrats are the party of intolerance.

Seriously, I have a sickening feeling that there are going to be riots after W trounces Kerry in the election. If it's not close, they can't cheat, and they can't complain with any credibility.

McCally is a part-time instructor in social and behavioral sciences at Santa Fe Community College who started in January, confirmed college spokesman Larry Keen. He will be "removed" from the classroom pending an administrative review on Monday, he said. BWWRAAPH HA HA HA HA

This is true, however, there are a lot of nutbar Democrats out there who are just crazy enough to riot.

Here's the motto of the department he works in at the community college (not a university - although I see he was associated with Univ. of Florida and Bethune Cookman in the past)
"Educating students to better understand themselves and others, to value our heritage, and to appreciate the diversity of the world and its cultures."
What a role model for young minds.

Reminds me of the Democreep guy who got arrested on that Canadian airline for verbally haranging a Republican lady and inappropriately touching her. Plane made an emergency landing and the guy was arrested. He was about age 55, the woman was twenty years younger -- same age range as this case.

As for Horn's commitment to his political opinions, he said, "If I have to take a beating every day for George W. Bush to be president, I'll do that. My passion for my beliefs continues unabated." Sounds like your average Broken-Glass Republican.

Thanks philomath.
I've been a longtime lurker (in an appreciateive way) on freerepublic but this state of affairs inour nation is too important to turn over to John F'in Kerry and those who think punching repubslicans, tearing signs out of the hands of little girls, and harrasing women who diagree with your obnoxious opinions is the standard for political discourse.
To: Freepdonia
"He proceeded to say how he had a Ph.D., and he was smarter than me. I'm a stupid Republican," and other comments laced with obscenities, he said.So McCally is a part-time instructor in social and behavioral sciences at a community college. Need I say anything more?
To: Noumenon
Can you imagine what they would do to us if they ever got back in power!

This is true, however, there are a lot of nutbar Democrats out there who are just crazy enough to riot. Not going to happen, and if it did it would discredit them even further and accelerate the rightward drift of the country.

David Philip McCally made a big mistake attacking Travis Horn.
I mentioned this story yesterday on a post. As a resident of Gainesville, I am very familiar with the political scene and the players.
Apparently, Mr. McCally had overlooked one critical factor regarding Mr. Horn:
" Mr. Horn is an honorably discharged U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Ranger.
The article states that after McCally punch Mr. Horn, that Mr. Horn punced him several times. I am sure those several punches were well placed and very efficient.
Travis, if you are lurking, YOU THE MAN!
