Possible Saddam-Al Qaeda Link Seen in U.N. Oil-for-Food Program
FOX news ^ | 18sep04 | Claudia Rosett and George Russell

LUGANO, Switzerland — Did Saddam Hussein use any of his ill-gotten billions filched from the United Nations Oil-for-Food program to help fund Al Qaeda?

Investigations have shown that the former Iraqi dictator grafted and smuggled more than $10 billion from the program that for seven years prior to Saddam's overthrow was meant to bring humanitarian aid to ordinary Iraqis. And the Sept. 11 Commission has shown a tracery of contacts between Saddam and Al Qaeda (search) that continued after billions of Oil-for-Food dollars began pouring into Saddam's coffers and Usama bin Laden (search) declared his infamous war on the U.S.

Now, buried in some of the United Nation's own confidential documents, clues can be seen that underscore the possibility of just such a Saddam-Al Qaeda link — clues leading to a locked door in this Swiss lakeside resort. A 2-fer. Justifies the invasion of Iraq against every current objection and buries the UN.

It's past time for U.S. law enforcement to look into what U.S. laws were violated by the administration of the Food for Oil program! Hey, Elliot Spitzer, if you want to be governor of New York...

So did the Clintons, who during 92-00 were very chummy with Koffi, ever get in on the oil for food money laundering scheme? Do we know where they got the money to buy a home in NY?

I knew there was a Saddam-9/11 link. It makes too much logical sense for there not to have been.

Isn't that special?

The lack of play the media has given this Oil-for-Food scandal really disgusts me.

Of course, so far there are no good graphics to go along with it.

Just wait for the naysayers on Free Republic to show up and tell us that Iraq was the wrong war. (They sound just like Kerry). And that there certainly were no ties between Iraq and AQ.

"The lack of play the media has given this Oil-for-Food scandal really disgusts me."

Well here in CA it's easy to understand why important stories are not aired: it's because (revisionist) history lessons about Vietnam, the Jacksons, Scott Peterson and the Kobe stories are more important to the illiterate whom most never finished high school.

However this doesn't explain the catering to the dumbing of the masses nationally. But perhaps since it is true what that they say about CA that we are trend setters, therfore the national broadcast networks are just figuring that they had better start writing stories on a 3rd grade level now as to stay ahead of their competition.

Illiteracy shockingly high in L.A.
