I wonder how Burkett feels tonight, sitting there watching HIS story suck all the oxygen out of the Kerry campaign. Watching HIS handiwork make the public fed up with his pal Rather. Watching HIS vendetta help the undecideds start to turn toward Bush.

Talk about being hoist by one's own petard.

Add: This guy is too self-absorbed to realize that the Dims are about to set him up as the fall guy for the whole plan gone awry. He's an unstable whack-job, and it will be very easy to isolate and blame him for the whole affair. IMO, this was Rather's exit plan all along.

He's probably still harboring hopes that THIS time his charges against Bush will stick. That's probably all he thinks about.

You wonder how Burkett feels?

I wonder how Rather, Mapes and all those closeted liberals at CBS feel about it since they HAD TO KNOW those memos were fakes.

They miscalculated because they never thought anyone would question mighty CBS (Clearly Bull Shix)

I'd be willing to bet that over at DU they are postulating that Burkett and Rove are the same person.

Denial, thy name is democrat.

I saw a picture of him on FOX and he even looks like a jerk; for real.

I fear for Beckett's mental health the next few months, but then again, those that try to deceive and are caught usually go to Jail, forging government documents in a C Felony attempt to smear someone in public office; Code of Military Justice as I understand it.

Burkett and Rather might both make their greatest contribution to the American way of life on this story.

There should be a monument somewhere with a big shoe with a hole shot through it - lined up so that you can see the American Flag waving when you look through.

"I wonder how Burkett feels tonight, sitting there watching HIS story suck all the oxygen out of the Kerry campaign."

He probably feels real bad, but he'll feel a lot worse sitting in a prison cell for wire fraud, falsifying a military document, forgery and any other felony they can make stick.

...and knowing that all the while, in the background, the swiftvets, the group that originally cast doubt on Kerry's "heroism", are getting stronger and more influential every day.
