Thanks everyone for coming.
I am proud to announce that the RNC has met and exceeded our goal of registering 3 million new voters in this cycle.
As of today we have registered 3,047,073 voters.
The President is attracting new voters and has historic levels of support from Republicans around the country.
We are expanding our party and building coalitions that will lead us to victory in November.
Last week in Monroe, Louisiana, I welcomed Rep. Rodney Alexander to the Republican Party. He became the 200th elected Democrat to switch parties since President George W. Bush took office.
Not all Democrats who support the President switch their Party affiliation, but a large number intend to vote for George W. Bush. Even before Democratic Senator Zell Miller delivered his convention speech the Los Angeles Times reported that President Bush was winning 15% of self-identified Democrats.
And a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll shows that 32 % of Kerry supporters expect President Bush to win.
We've been aggressively reaching out to all voters Hispanics, African Americans, Asian AmericansRepublicans, Democrats and Independents.
On Wednesday, I was in Milwaukee for the sixth stop on our African American Economic Empowerment Tour.
Teaming up with Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele, Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jeannette Bradley, Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams, Boxingand George Bushpromoter Don King and others, we have delivered our Partys message of economic opportunity and empowerment in Milwaukee, Detroit, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Cleveland and Miamis Little Haiti.
We see a particular opportunity with ALL newly registered voters who may be more interested in a leader with solutions to the challenges we face, than party allegiance. They will be hearing from the RNC and Republican state parties.
Every day Americans are witness to more and more proof that Democrats are the Party of protest and pessimism, providing a sharp contrast to our Partys action and optimism.
Our Party is growing while their Party is shrinking.
As the Democratic Party becomes smaller, it becomes more liberal, more angry, and more hate-filled. And as the Democratic Party becomes more liberal, more angry, and more hate-filled, it becomes smaller.
This is reinforced by the Kerry Campaigns latest strategic shift to a so-called character based critique, a euphemism for character assassination.
The Kerry Campaigns character based critique is based on some of the most dubious characters ever to engage in the American political process.
Michael Moores movie claims that the United States went into Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks not to rid the world of the Taliban but to build an oil pipeline, a theory described as screed and propaganda by former New York Mayor Ed Koch but embraced by DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe. You probably remember Mr. Moore at the Democrats convention in Boston, sharing the Presidents box with former President Jimmy Carter.
At an official Kerry campaign event the President of the United States was called a "cheap thug" a "killer" and a "liar," and the day after our convention concluded in New York at a Kerry campaign rally, his surrogate, in introducing Sen. Kerry, his surrogate, former Senator John Glenn, compared the Republican Party convention to a Nazi rally.
This is the tone they set for their campaign. Its the kind of environment that fosters wrongful actions.
A Bush supporter in Duluth, MN found his yard signs and property vandalized with swastikas and the word Nazi painted on his property and a brick thrown through his car window.
This gentleman by the way, his son and daughter-in-law both serve in the United States Armed Forces, his younger son is a senior in high school and has taken the Air Force exam because he wants to enter the Air Force after high school.
And it is increasingly apparent that somebody seeking to help elect Senator Kerry has gone so far as to fake documents and slip them to an unsuspecting news organization.
Last week the DNC launched Operation Fortunate Son, based on a book by the same name that was immediately recalled because the author lied to reporters during interviews about the book.
Yesterday a new ad from MoveOn.org was released which depicts an American soldier surrendering in the battle against the terrorists.
Senator Bob Dole yesterday demanded that the Kerry campaign call on MoveOn.org to take down this disgusting and demoralizing portrayal of American soldiers fighters for us in Iraq.
We can expect to see more as they continue down this path. John Kerrys latest ads look like they were produced by Michael Moore, and his latest speeches sound like they were written by Kitty Kelley, but calling the President a liar every day from now through November wont make Senator Kerry more electable.
Increasingly unable to get the most voters on their side, they seem to assume they can win the election if they can get the most lawyers on their side.
The Democrats announced an aggressive legal strategy over the summer, promising to send 3,000 lawyers out for Election Day. The Wall Street Journal reports today that number has been increased to 10,000 lawyers.
Months ago I urged Terry to join me and work together to make sure our election is transparent and that no voter is disenfranchised at the polls on November 2, and I challenge him again today to do so.
what commercial is he talking about?
I went to moveonpac.org and all I saw under new commercials was one called "quagmire" that shows a GI running across the desert and sinking further and further into quicksand.
quicktime is here: http://moveonpac.org/#
No terrorists even depicted in the thing...
Did they pull it already--like that nazi ad someone submitted to their site a while back?
Maybe they are really running scared these days...
Tommy Daschhole is saddened.
I would like Michael Moore to personally take me to the alleged oil pipeline that we bad Americans built.
