THIS IS WHY THEY HATE FOX NEWS CHANNEL.

THIS IS WHY THEY HATE FOX NEWS CHANNEL.

Brit Hume had a bit on his "Special Report" last night about a new television ad from Moveon.org, the 527 group financed by that shadowy Hungarian-born international financier who, by the way, hates George Bush. The television ad shows a picture of an AK47 automatic rifle. The ad says "This ... can fire up to 300 rounds a minute. ... In the hands of a terrorist it could kill hundreds ... But on September 13th George Bush will [have] let the assault weapons ban expire." Hume then points out that this particular gun has been banned in the U.S. since the Firearms Act was passed in 1934. They are banned today. You can't own one without a special and very hard-to-get permit from the feds. So, Moveon.org lied. But that's not the news here. We already know that Moveon.org lies in their PAC ads. The news here is that you heard about this from Fox News Channel. You can bet your right to Social Security payments (might as well bet something of no real value) that you would never see The New York Times, the Boston Globe, CBS, NBC, ABC or CNN ever report this particular story. Fox News did, and that's why liberals hate Fox News so much. Just reporting that Moveon.org has an adverse relationship with the truth is proof of bias.

Brit needs to look into Kerry's claim to own a Chinese assault rifle (could be SKS but maybe AK47) as a souvenir from nam. Would be ironic if he was in violation of the gun laws.

Right on--- the Senate has to pass the bill before the Presdietn is even involved. and that must mean that the Senate did not do it job in presenting a renewal of the gun ban bill for Bush to sign. Now I wonder who has been slacking off in the Senate as of late (Johns anyone). For Kerry to try to claim the Senate could not act on anything unless Bush forced them to and at the same time claiming he could be a better leader than Bush makes one wonder just how many toes he has left after holding that Russian made auromatic rifle he owns.

If Fox was biased towards conservatives the was the MSM is biased towards liberals, it would be much different, much more slanted. Right now, it is balanced for the most part, and to be balanced is to give fair play to the conservative side, and that is conservative to the liberal media.

a typical liberal wouldn't know the truth if it crawl up their spineless back, into an ear, roamed around a vast vacuum, crawl out the other ear,and bit them on a botox filled forehead.

one error of no consequence.. the following is incorrect:

banned in the U.S. since the Firearms Act was passed in 1934.

it should read...

banned in the U.S. since the Firearms Act was passed in 1968.

Also known as the NFA of 1968

Phony Bush Letter More Than a Lie

Friday, September 17, 2004

By John Gibson

The secretary of a now-deceased man who oversaw President Bush's service in the National Guard says even though the letter sent to CBS is phony, the stuff it said was true.

In other words, the question seems to be... does it matter that someone thinks it's OK to forge a dead man's name on a phony letter to smear a sitting president during a dead heat, neck-and-neck presidential campaign?

CBS and Dan Rather don't think it matters. They think if the 86-year-old secretary is there to testify that she thought young Bush didn't think the rules applied to him, well good enough... no need to worry about who is going around forging letters of dead men.

Well, let's all make our own judgment about whether that matters so much in today's war on terror.

But I think it does matter if the charges against the president are carried by people who think forgery is OK.

For one thing, it's a criminal act. For another, it's way different than saying — as the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth did — "I served with John Kerry" when they meant they were assigned to the same river as Kerry in the same year.

That is a stretch. The phony letter is a lie and a crime.

It's funny, but i never watched Fox news until i heard the network being constantly bashed on shows like CNN (aka Clinton News Network) and Bill Maur's Anti-Bush vehicle.
The fear was so transparent that i had to check it out just to see what all the fuss was about.
What a wonderful surprise it was to get an honest take on current affairs. It was like a cool breeze shooting through my living room on an otherwise muggy day!

What's the difference between moveon.org & a bowel movement?

With one of them, you push a lever and never see it again.
Maybe that will be true of the other come November !!!

Is Fox conservative or do they just show the truth and the truth is so new?

Truth is a very conservative idea.

It has always been Fascism, Communism and left-wing Democrats who have used lies to promote their messages.

The end justifies the means.

When the iron curtain fell in Europe, it was dressed up and rehung in America by the liberal elites.

Hume also could have mentioned that if the "527" was sincere, they also would have admitted that the President can't do anything involving a law until it is sent to him by congress, which this never was.

Well, by definition a 527 is a political beast and therefore has no intention of being sincere nor of teaching the public a civics or history lessons. Any citizen with who spends more than a minute thinking about it probably realizes the President can't write laws (barring Executive Orders, which I doubt a large percentage of the population even know exist) until they are sent to him by Congress. The problem is too many people have forgotten how the USA government functions from their public school education and expect the media to remind them, which they conventiently don't do (not picking on you here, safeasthebanks).

FOX tells the truth - or at least tries to, which makes them dramatically different from their competition (like CBS). The MSM only direct their fact-checking against Republican and conservative targets, while FOX questions both sides.

Now, can anyone tell me why, if AK-47's are "illegal" due to gun control, terrorists still have them by the thousands? Maybe 60 Minutes will do an expose... .

I don't think the permit is hard to get (but harder than it should be). Background check and pay your tax. The hard part is finding the cash for a full auto rifle.

Just because they used the wrong weapon and had all the facts wrong does not negate the accuracy of their claims. Why hasn't Bush responded to these allegations????

Prior to Fox, there were "conservatives" on TV, but they were all cartoonish people designed to play villain so the liberal savior could come in and rescue the show.

My recollection is that both George Will and Charles Krauthammer were on the air before FoxNews, and I'd hardly call them "cartoonish." WFB had Firing Line for only like, 20 years. The real problem--other than Firing Line--always was that the conservative was completely outnumbered and often shouted down or ridiculed. PBS marginalized Firing Line by showing it late in the evening, or even after midnight in many markets. And it was only ONE conservative star in a very liberal galaxy of programs.

The big difference on FoxNews is that all commentators are treated with respect. (Even some, such as Juan Williams, who really deserve none.)
