Three-year-old Sophia Parlock cries while seated on the shoulders of her father, Phil Parlock, after having their Bush-Cheney sign torn up by Kerry-Edwards supporters on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va. Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards (news - web sites) made a brief stop at the airport as he concluded his two-day bus tour to locations in West Virginia and Ohio. Why don't they say a Kerry supporter did it??

Beautifully stated, dearie. Give the family a hug for us, and don't be a stranger here at FR. It's a great place to be...

well,
while some unions have "issues,"
MANY union members were in the "Reagan Democrats" that got RWR elected president twice...
and my grandfather--bit Reagan supporter-- would state that unions were responsible for things like the 40 hour week, the weekend, overtime pay, worker's comp, unemployment, etc.
The problem is that the unions got way too crazy with the featherbedding and all that other stuff in the 60s and 70s and some of them were in bed with the mafia.

See my post #183 below. The union has apologize to you and your family.

The guy on his left with the backwards green cap. Well, I assume he did it. He seems to have pieces of the sign in his hands. In a subsequent picture I saw he appears to be laughing at the little girl. Someone ought to cuff the hell out of him.

Over at DU, they are stating that the father has had two other similar incidents.
the father has been involved in similar incidents for the last two election cycles. So have many of us.
Some of us have even had our names/pictures in the paper more than once, or been interviewed on television. That doesn't make us hoaxers.
I'll have to see a bit more, starting with pictures of the son that actually resemble the guy in the Union shirt (because the one pic we have sure doesn't), before I believe this whole thing was a set-up.

unions were responsible for things like the 40 hour week, the weekend, overtime pay, worker's comp, unemployment, etc. Nothing to boast about. Such union 'achievements' only add to overhead and put additional burden on the business owner. I own a business and am inundated with government mandated paperwork created by socialist politicians/lobbyists/bureaucRATs. Unions are the bane of the entrepreneur. To the unionists, my response is if you don't like working for "the MAN" start your own business.

I think I'm being misunderstood. I DON'T think these are hoaxes. I'm just repeating what the other side is saying and what they believe.
I'm 100% behind this father and his daughter and their right to be there.

Saw it. Probably legit, as the family was invited and given directions here last night by another freeper.

I misunderstood then, sorry.

Can you share a better copy of that family photo? You don't need it. It's clear even from the small photos that it's not the same guy.

I think he looks very upset, sink. Me too. That is a picture of a man - a father- who is frantically calculating his unsavory "flight or fight" options in a confrontation. The springloaded dad, the fearful little girl, the taunting punk ... that's an authentic life scene.

Next time you put up a post that anyone with a double or triple digit IQ can clearly identify as a parody, please end your post with something like /sarcasm, so some of those with single digit IQs will also know. This should reduce the number of stupid replies you get.

Look sister, I don't buy neither your story than your ID. First, as a father of two young children I saw the photo and was shocked. Not only by what's happening but also about a non-reaction from your (I doubt that more than somewhat) Dad. If that happens to any child, parents would made an effort do defend. That's the normal and natural reaction.Your "Dad" didn't. Second, your Dad has refused to pursue charges against the man who allegedly accosted him and your sister. Tell me why. Why he refuses to, Law was broken and as a responsible father he has to persue a charge. Third and last one, you were not at the rally, you just have to defend him as a family member. That's ok. But they were many others who saw it all. And they tell different storys, even other children. At the end, your father is widely known as a frontrunner, 44 story's in the same newspaper, the same newspaper that send the poto-guy to the rally. Regardless that it is iresponsible to get children involved in actions that they don't understand (a 3year old doesn't understand) and put them to risk. Your father dind't help the GOP Campaigne at all. It's even more the other side. If this story breaks trough, our momentum could be broken. And that's the last that we need. Period.
