Tears, tissues in jury box for autopsy photos of Peterson fetus
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Grisly autopsy photographs of Scott and Laci Peterson's fetus brought one juror to tears and had two others struggling to keep their composure at the fertilizer salesman's murder trial Thursday.
The graphic pictures, displayed by the doctor who conducted the autopsy, showed the waterlogged, decomposed remains of the baby the couple planned to name Conner.
An alternate juror, the mother of four boys, wept into a tissue while forensic pathologist Brian Peterson pointed out the misshapen head and soft, bloated torso. Two other female jurors gripped tissues and looked stricken. One cast her damp eyes around the courtroom gallery instead of gazing at the images.
Peterson, who is accused of killing his pregnant wife Dec. 24, 2002, and dumping her body in the San Francisco Bay, stared down at his lap as the pictures flashed across a large projection screen.

Peterson Jurors See, Hear Grim Details
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) -- Laci Peterson's fetus was expelled from her decaying body after her death, a forensic pathologist testified Thursday at Scott Peterson's murder trial.
Dr. Brian Peterson, who performed Laci's autopsy, testified there was no evidence Laci had given birth prior to her death as the defense argues.
Her uterus had not returned to more of a normal size as is typical after a woman gives birth naturally, said Peterson, who is not related to the defendant or his late wife.

Gruesome autopsy photos shown at Peterson trial
REDWOOD CITY -- One alternate juror wiped tears from her eyes, and Scott Peterson's mother shielded her face with a book, as images of Laci Peterson's decomposed torso were shown Wednesday in Scott's capital murder trial.
"There was no brain to examine, because there was no head. No heart or lungs to examine because the chest was empty. No liver, spleen or kidneys because the abdomen was empty," said Dr. Brian Peterson, the forensic pathologist who examined Laci's remains.
Testifying for the prosecution, Dr. Peterson said he could not determine how Laci died because of the advanced decomposition of her remains. Because her body had been underwater for a long period of time, Dr. Peterson said the only internal organ intact was the 27-year-old woman's uterus.
This allowed the doctor to reach some conclusions about how the Petersons' unborn baby exited her womb. The remains of Laci Peterson and the .......

Peterson breaks down in tears as autopsy photos displayed
REDWOOD CITY -- The tiny corpse of Scott and Laci Peterson's unborn child washed ashore intact, because it was shielded in the womb from sea life and saltwater, a forensic pathologist said Thursday in Scott Peterson's capital murder trial.
The testimony of Dr. Brian Peterson, who conducted autopsies on both bodies, dealt damaging blows to two key defense theories: that the Petersons' child, whom they planned to name Conner, could have been born alive, and that the plastic tape wound around the baby's neck was evidence linking the deaths to the true killers.
The eyes of two women jurors swelled red with tears as they listened to testimony. Others closed their eyes or looked down as the photos were displayed.
Tears streamed down Scott Peterson's cheeks as autopsy photographs were shown. A deputy handed tissues to Pat Harris, one of Peterson's attorneys.......

Peterson trial turns to cause of death
REDWOOD CITY Amid grisly autopsy photos that choked up Scott Peterson, prosecutors suggested Thursday that he smothered or strangled his pregnant wife, the first indication of how they think he murdered her. That could account for what the defense has said was a lack of Laci Petersons blood or other bodily fluids in the couples Modesto home, her husbands pickup or the boat prosecutors contend he used to dump her body in San Francisco Bay.
Prosecutors, their case winding down after 16 weeks of testimony, have presented no evidence that police found bodily fluids.
Certainly smothering is one of the ways not to produce blood or fluid outside the body, testified Dr. Brian Peterson, the medical examiner who performed autopsies on Laci Peterson and the baby the couple planned to name Conner.
Dr. Peterson, who is not related to the defendant, also testified that he was unable to determine the cause or time of death for Laci Peterson because her remains were severely degraded by tidal action, decomposition and animal feeding ........

Doctor says fetus expelled naturally
Little was left of Laci Peterson when she washed up along the edge of San Francisco Bay.
The only internal organ left was her womb -- the uterus that held her baby tightly through at least weeks or months of decomposition and animal feeding at the bottom of the bay, the pathologist who conducted the autopsy testified Wednesday.
The fetus, which washed up about a mile away from its mother along the Richmond shoreline in April 2003, had been expelled from the top of the uterus, pathologist Brian Peterson testified. ``I didn't see evidence of tool marks or cutting.''
The prosecution in the murder case against Scott Peterson presented witnesses Wednesday to make two significant points.......

Baby likely not born before Laci Peterson dumped in bay, pathologist testifies
A pathologist who conducted autopsies on Laci Peterson and her baby testified in court this morning that although the two bodies washed ashore within days of each other, the baby's body was far more intact and less decomposed than his mother's.
The most plausible explanation for the differences is that the baby was protected from the elements of San Francisco Bay by his mother's uterus, forensic pathologist Brian Peterson testified during Scott Peterson's capital-murder trial in Redwood City.
"If he had spent substantial time in the water like Laci did he would have been eaten," said the pathologist, who is not related to either the defendant. "My conclusion was that (the baby) had been protected by the uterus.'

Peterson jurors shown autopsy photos; prosecutors point to crucial lie
Laci Peterson's fetus was expelled from her decaying body after her death, a forensic pathologist testified Thursday at Scott Peterson's murder trial.
Dr. Brian Peterson, who performed Laci's autopsy, testified there was no evidence Laci had given birth prior to her death.
Her uterus had not returned to more of a normal size as is typical after a woman gives birth naturally, said Peterson, who is not a relation of either Laci or Scott Peterson.
"That means Ms. Peterson was pregnant and the baby had not been delivered when she died?" asked prosecutor Dave Harris.
"That is my opinion," Peterson replied........

Jury sees gruesome pictures of remains
Baby was not born naturally or by cesarean, says expert
Some jurors in the Scott Peterson capital-murder trial quietly wiped away tears as prosecutors showed them gruesome photos Wednesday of the carcass- like remains of Peterson's wife, Laci, a graphic courtroom display that drew audible gasps from observers in the gallery.
As Assistant District Attorney David Harris flashed pictures of the badly decomposed, nearly hollow body on a wide screen in the Redwood City courtroom, Brian Peterson, who conducted the autopsy of Laci Peterson, listed what was not there.
"There were a lot of parts missing. The head, the neck, the forearms ... the lower leg,'' said Brian Peterson, a forensic pathologist who is not related to either of the Petersons. "There was no brain to examine because there was no head. No heart or lungs to examine because the chest was empty. No liver or kidneys because the abdomen was empty.''
In fact, the only organ present was......

Jury Hears Testimony From Laci Peterson's Doctor
Jurors in the Scott Peterson double-murder trial heard from Laci Peterson's doctor Wednesday morning.
Dr. Esther Tow-Der said Laci Peterson was expected to give birth to a healthy baby boy in early February of 2003. Her due date was about six weeks after she disappeared.
Tow-Der said she last examined Peterson on December 23, 2002, the day before she was reported missing. She said the unborn baby appeared to be in good health at that time........

Doctor: Peterson Fetus Expelled From Body
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) - Scott Peterson wept Thursday, his chin to his neck, dabbing his eyes with tissues, while jurors at his murder trial looked at autopsy photos of the fetus his wife had been carrying before her death.
Images of the fetus were displayed on a large white-wall screen on the same day that a forensic pathologist testified the fetus was expelled from Laci's Peterson's decaying body after her death.
Dr. Brian Peterson, who performed autopsies on Laci and the couple's fetus said there was no evidence Laci had given birth before her death.
Her uterus had not returned to normal size as is typical after a woman gives birth, said Peterson, who is not related to the defendant or his late wife.

We now return you to this year's TRIAL OF THE CENTURY.
Oh thanks! I just started reading the other one though! I guess you have to keep up every day.
PSSST... #6 is to you.
Grisly autopsy photographs of Scott and Laci Peterson's BABY BABY BABY brought one juror to tears and had two others struggling to keep their composure at the fertilizer salesman's murder trial Thursday.
IT IS A BABY NOT A FETUS DAMIT!
This is why the media will NEVER show photos of aborted babies.
Bump
amongst other reasons....
I heard Shepherd Smith call Scott Peterson "the accused wife and BABY killer.
LOL.... I know it, and so does the media, but they are sooooo leftist, they can't write straight! ;o)
ROFL.....
People need to know a very simple little fact - the latin word "fetus" means baby. No if's and's or but's. Just point this out to them and ask how one can justify killing something they are calling a baby? How about bambino? Or, enfant? Or bebe? Imagine the silliness of the following:
"It's not a baby, it's a bambino!"
When the left and pro-abortion irrationals use the word "fetus" to disguise that which is real, they are disguising nothing. All they do is reveal the futility of their position.
I believe this was in reference to a fleece scarf which was looked up on the web on Dec 24th at about 8:00 AM. The other item that was looked up was an umbrella stand for a large Patio umbrella.
Scott had a few of these umbrellas in his truck when he left for the bay.(These stands are usually weighted via sand, a component of concrete.)
1. Did he use a fleece scarf to strangle Laci? Did he try to make an anchor using one of the umbrella stands but it was too heavy or awkward or traceable. He had to consequetly dump one (missing) stand and the scarf.
These stands have holes in them to set the umbrella similar to a Christmas Tree Stand.
Scott had a scarf in his cache when they arrested him but it was not described.
I think what's coming will disprove all of Gregaros' of "Somebody else did it".
Scott might as well have been using a pointer and a blackoard in a "How To Murder Your Wife 101 Class" in describing his journey of December 24th.
Fetus for liberals means a blob of blood and tissue. This way there is no guilt for killing the "fetus".
Despite the forecasted rain from the remnants of Ivan, my birthday won't be as bad as 1999.
5 years ago today, Rocky Mount was getting pummeled by Hurricane Floyd. I was lucky to escape the flooding that inundated 30% of the city.
We're headed to the beach this weekend, even if the weather will be bad.
Have an excellent weekend!
