I don't have the problems with the pdf files either. I cannot however....get windows media player to work on sites where it is embedded in the page. I just get a page that says "Get plugin". And I don't want new versions of windows media player. Strange thing is that IE does work on those pages...so I don't need a plugin. Just a way to make mozilla use the one I already have. Being that the stream is embedded on a web page when you click on "Listen Live". I have not figured out how to do that.

My son installed Mozella Foxfire in my computer awhile back. Lately I've had some computer problems and have done about everything I knew how to do, which helped some.
I tried using the Foxfire one day and it was fast. I'm not familiar with all the features yet, it seems to open in new pages on its own and I've not been able to see some html graphics in email??

I'm using Netscape 7.2, I like it. The reason I use it is because it comes with composer, messenger etc. Popup blocking privacy and security settings are very good. The browser is fast and renders graphics very fast, although I cannot speak to dial-up performance as I'm on cable, but suspect that it handles the slower speeds just as well.
But hey, its based on Mozilla just as Firefox is.

When using IE, when you view Yahoo news photo thumbnails the ALT description will pop up when you hover the mouse over the pic. That's an important feature to me -- saves me from having to click on the pic to see the description.
I couldn't get Firefox to do that, so I gave up on it.

I downloaded Firefox and I can't believe how much faster it is. It will take some getting used to but I already love it since I am on a SLOW dial up. Thank you!!

FireFox bump, running 0.9.3 here, works great, I like the cookie control, no pop-ups, etc...

Here is what I did ... downloaded a pdf, then went back to FR. No problem. Tried another pdf, no problem. Downlaoded a pdf and switched to another bookmarked site, still no problem. Tried the same with mozilla. no problem. In each case response was quick. Do you have a specific pdf url, I will try it.
My guess is you have either an outdated Adobe viewer, outdated systems file or some sort of adware/virus hanging around.
It shouldn't work this way and on my two boxen it doesn't. I am using firefox 0.93 and RC1.

I have Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional. I am noticing others are having the same problem when I did a Google search. However, it seems to be something wrong with Acrobat 6 and Firefox. When people revert back to the regular Acrobat 5 reader, things seem to work fine in Mozilla Firefox.
So, it seems to be a prob with Acrobat 6.

Microsoft Firefox is using unfair business practices by giving away their browser for free!!!! thats how they sank Netscape!!! (please ignore the fact that you could get a perfectly useful version of Netscape for free as well)
