Try exporting your bookmarks from your old browser..
I suggest you export as a text file.. (name.txt)
Take note of where you save the file
Then simply import that file into your bookmarks..

Did you try exporting your favorites out of IE and than importing them into Firefox separately outside of the install process? That might work better.

Thanks for your service, any my regrets at the loss of your marriage. Your daughter is a little treasure, though.

Thanks. I was able to do it from within Firefox, just couldn't use the wizard.

You can download Firefox at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/.

I just got a new laptop and before I could get Firefox downloaded I had managed to get browser hijacker. Little danger of that with Mozilla or Firefox.

I use Mozilla or Firefox for most everything, but there are still a few sites (especially Micro$oft) that won't load, I switch to IE6 as a lat resort.

"I have also been using Internet Explorer since about 1996, when it came pre-loaded on a computer I bought. I found it to be adequate, and certainly seemed to be on the cutting edge (anybody remember “push technology”?).

Yuk the version of IE that came with windows 95 was unusable. IE 3 I believe it was. OR was it 2? It would not even download large files like Netscape. Netscape 2 was way better than IE 3 and below. Personaly I have always thought that any good feature in IE was stolen from Netscape(mozilla).

I updated to the latest FireFox and now getting errors. I think the installer does not correctly update system OLE files.

Thanks for the middle button tip! I've been using Firefox and Thunderbird for about 8 months, and hadn't realized that would open new tabs. I still have I.E. on the computer, but only have found one site that I have to use it for.
Thanks again!!

The day I switched to Firefox, I knew I was never going back to IE.

So far, I haven't really noticed much of a difference... what should I be looking for?

Sorry for being such a dumbass, but hey, I was a history major, not a computer guy :)

I have been using Firefox for a while now. The one thing about netscape 4.7 that I will always miss is that the bookmarks were so much easier to use. I miss the "File Bookmark" feature. No clicking through folder lists to save a link. Also I had a lot of bookmarks and 4.7 would line them up in several rows across the page. The scrolling thing in Mozilla/firefox annoys me to no end. And once it starts scrolling it is a real game to get it to stop. The only way arround that is have several bookmark tabs on the tool bar and then not let any of them get to full.

Thanks. Did that. Now I'll see if it works.

I'm not at all colorblind. This feature works fine in IE. But it's been a drawback to me in Firefox.

"I'm using it now. Slight improvements over Mozilla (bookmarks), but it's still got some bugs (bookmarks)."

LOL...when improvements are not improvements.
