Just watched the account on PBS news of the Kerry Guard convention speech. They juxtaposed about 3 minutes of Bush's speech a couple of days ago with 3 minutes of Kerry's speech today. Although they made no verbal comment, the difference was so devastating for Kerry that I am amazed they showed it! (Bush was recieved warmly, smiling faces, appropriate applause, etc.) Kerry on the other hand delivered his defeatist screed to stonefaced silence. The camera panned at times to a few listeners walking out, a few boo's and NOT A SINGLE CLAP BY ANYONE IN THE CROWD! Kerry paused as if waiting for applause a few times, but NOTHING! I was dumfounded that they showed this on PBS!
Did anyone get another view?
Kerry feels good, more people there than he usually talks to!

Watching the replay now, it's no wonder they cut away as Kerry is out of his realm.
Some Kerry staffer was down there whistling his heart out.
"Did I stab any of you guys in the back?"
Kerry is on C-span (repeat) right now & hardly any clapping when he came & sat down waiting for his introduction. He has that silly grin on his face. They introduced him as John Kennedy/Kerry. He doesn't look very comfortable.

OH MY GOD! It just started on CSPAN. They are frigid, it sounds like an empty room.
No one laughed at his jokes. Very weak applause, mostly from polite clapping at podium by other speakers.
So far no long shots showing the crowd.
Well raise the volume on your TV if you want to hear the minimal applause. It's embarrassing.
EEEEUUUUWWWWW..........looks like he took Wesley "Ashley Wilkes" Clark along with him........for "moral" support, no doubt.......WHAT A LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He really expected applause? Doesn’t he get it yet that these people are real veterans, not that bunch of Genuine Imitations from Hanoi Jane and John’s VVAW?
The dud is applauding for himself--how desperate!
