GOOD NEWS: The liberals are switching teams thanks to the CBS Blunder!

EMAIL OF THE DAY: "Overall, I have many of the same lamentations about Big-Government-Bush as you, and as my views are generally libertarian I find much of the social conservatism distasteful as well. But while I was struggling with how to approach this election for those reasons, I must say that this unspeakably disgusting behavior by CBS has now made my decision easy. I always thought the clear liberal bias at CBS (and others) was just a natural consequence of the way the liberal journalists dominating MSM see the world rather than a concerted effort to push a liberal agenda (the fish don’t feel the water theory, as others have put it). I now see how wrong I was. If CBS is willing to not only shred even the pretense of journalistic ethics, but to actually conspire to commit fraud (as I think the evidence of ignoring experts and standing behind such obvious forgeries shows) in a desperate attempt to throw a presidential election and install their candidate, then I must do everything I can to oppose them. This means becoming an active supporter of President Bush. I would never have imagined that would happen, but all I can say is thanks, CBS, for exposing yourself and clearing things up." More feedback on the Letters Page. By the way, I'm on Paula Zahn at 8pm wit Howie Kurtz discussing Rathergate. - 6:38:47 PM

Ah, yes. Laws somehow thwart free will. I forgot that bank robbers have no free will choice and are made into zombies by statist laws.

Not much of a difference, especially when considering their commonly-held moral-liberalism.

WOW! Post 13...you're slipping!

Tool.

Now, this next question is even more important....Can you verify the information in these fake documents is correct? Well, I couldn't last week but I sure can now. I remember like it was yesterday. Actually, I'm not quite sure what yesterday was. What day is today? Where am I? Aren't you that so-and-so who stole my loaf of rye? Of course I remember, all that there fake information is true, and I should know, 'cause I'm wearing 'em and I just did. OOPS! I CRAPPED MY PANTS!

CBS made it worse by insisting that the fraud didn't matter.

They don't get it, but the pajama people do.

Not exactly true. The libertarians are pretty much in step with conservative thinking about limited government and that it should stay out of people's lives.

"There is literally NOTHING that anyone could do to affect the true liberals."

Not sure there is even such a thing as a true "liberal," though there are certainly true socialists and leftists.

I don't think "liberals" even know what the hell they are, they just vote for "good causes," not noticing that they are also voting totalitarian powers to government in service of those causes.

As Hayek says, they are sacrificing principle for expediencey. Which actually argues that *liberals don't really have principals*. Makes sense to me, how else can they take the positions they do.

Anyhow, I hope it backfires big time on both Kerry and CBS News. One can hope!

I'm not touching that with Dan Rather's ten foot nose.

Even more importantly, how many libs may not be able to bring themselves to vote for GW -- but, may just stay home out of disgust?

I love this quote from the site...mentioning those folks like FR in pajamas!

"If the documents are not what we were led to believe, I'd like to break that story. Any time I'm wrong, I want to be right out front and say, 'Folks, this is what went wrong and how it went wrong.'"

Memo to Rather: you can't break that story, because someone else in pajamas already did. Check the frequency, Kenneth. You are so far from being out front on this, you are leagues behind in the dust. Have you heard of the Internet? You can find it on that weird machine in your office they call a computer. All this proves is the fathomless cocooning of Rather and Heyward. They still think this is the 1980s. They have no idea what media world they are living in. Like Howell Raines, they are so out of it, they don't even know they're finished. Above all, they are not acting as journalists. They are acting as political operators, determined to win a news cycle, to inflict as much damage on their opponents as possible, while stonewalling on their own glaring, obvious errors. So this is a test of the blogosphere. We have to keep at these guys day and night to force them to live up to the most basic ethical requirements of their profession. After all this stonewalling and arrogance, an apology and retraction will no longer suffice. These guys have to resign or be fired.

::sigh:: Where did you come up with the idea that there should be NO laws?

"Not much of a difference, especially when considering their commonly-held moral-liberalism."

That part is only partially true for liberals and libertarians, but not for leftists and libertarians. In fact the libertarian position is not that we should sit around smoking, drinking and doing drugs, but that such should be the choice of the individual rather than the government. Makes perfect sense if one believes in individual freedom and personal liberty.

Leftists and socialists, OTOH, do not allow individual freedom except as the state allows. They have historically supported drug use in America in an attempt to destroy our culture.

The Republican voters are all lining up behind Bush, while the soft Democrats are swinging toward Bush in large numbers.

As my Democratic wife told me after the Russian school crisis, "If terrorists took over our daughter's school, which person do you want to handle the terrorists? Bush or Kerry?"

Kerry is too irresolute to handle the evil enemies trying to harm us. Being indecisive is a no-no while dealing with terrorists.

No decision is the worst decision. You know that Bush will make good or bad decisions, but he will not sit on his butt vacillating while American enemies regroup.

Too bad the Rats have succeeded in keeping Nader off the ballot in many states.

Au contraire. Bush is a runaway winner (unless the unthinkable happens between now and Nov 2). Better the lefties stay home and not count in the Senate and House races. Nader on the ballot would give them a reason to vote.

Apparently, Andrew Sullivan is going to vote for Bush.

I believe he recently declared his non-support over Bush's opposition to gay marriage.

(This conclusion is based on a cursory reading of the initial post. Please correct at will.)

That Sullivan is going to vote for Bush is more than this seems to say. My understanding is that someone whose handle was claimed to be "sonserae" wrote the original email at the AndrewSullivan.com website, got it published there, perhaps at Sullivan's selection, but then FR's "sonserae" (probably, but not necessarily the same person) feels so proud of that email, that s/he posted it here in solicitation of our kudos.

I am grateful for every vote actually cast for Dubya.
