This could get interesting. Sayonara, Dan.

CBS, Dan Rather fade??? They've been blown away by the people they thought were not watching or payng attention...UNITE America...keep up the pressure..Do NOT watch CBS and boycott all products that advertise with them...that is what causes change as obviously they don't have the morals to report FAIR!!and yes, I am in my pjs!

The net viewership shows a big drop now, even with so many people who ordinarily wouldn't tuning in to see what outrageous tap dance he will do next. Count me in that number. I've watched something from twenty to infinity times the Dan Rather I normally would over the last week.
The entertainment value of watching Dan twist in the wind will necessarily pall, however. Against that, the hit on his and CBS's credibility will last for years.
If his ratings are bad now, what will they be in a month? In December?

I think the pressure needs to be on our local TV stations and radio affiliates who use CBS news on the half hour. If they start dropping him that will speak volumns. Some already have (dropped it)

Heck, I watched CBS last night for the first time watching MSM News Broadcasts in about 20 years.
They are just a long infomercial for the Democrat party, so after watching Dan squirm, I'll turn them off for another 20 years.

I actually think NBC and ABC see real benefit in standing well clear of flying stuff and inheriting the leftovers after CBS falls off the map. Good point to go after both the CBS affiliates and the sponsors. If affiliates start individually examining other network connections at the same time sponsors bail out, it will be a double whammy for the sonewalling fakers at CBS.

I'm prepared to call this one early - it's a win for the Right! FR has single handedly brought down the eminence gris of the Leftist Media Elite.
It's a great day for America and a great day for freedom everywhere.
My most sincere appreciation to everyone involved in pushing this.

The Firing or Rather (or forced retirement) and Mapes is the only thing that will remotely save CBS at this point, and frankly its long long long overdue.

I have a hard time believing that ratings went down due to this. I sould think, in the short term, people would tune in to watch the train wreck. But, the system that gathers and reports rating statistics has only one goal - to reflect viewership for commercial purposes. That is, it has no political ax to grind.

Interesting caller comment on Boortz:
Caller said it is curious that the LibDems are wailing about the memos and saying 'it is the essence, the content, the substance of the memos that is important.'
Caller reminded that, when the Senate Judiciary memo surfaced, the same LibDems were wailing that it wasn't the content that was important, but how the Pubs got the memo was.
lol. So libDems have hung around Kerry so long that they've learned how to flipflop, too.

I love it. The only thing (at the moment) on drudge is a few links to various Rather/memo pieces, and the link to the story about the Rent Boy. too funny.

You would think CBS's ratings would be soaring what with everyone watching them try to hang themselves since last Thursday.
