KAMIKAZE KERRY RIDES ALONG WITH LOSER DAN
New York Post ^ | 9/16/04 | DEBORAH ORIN

September 16, 2004 -- BIZARRELY, John Kerry is now clutching onto the document-challenged Dan Rather like a drowning man grabbing onto a sinking ship.

Ask outside Democratic strategists, and they all say it makes zero sense for Kerry allies to piggyback on the Rather attacks against Bush's National Guard service now that the anchor's credibility is melting like the Wicked Witch of the West.

Worried Dems say it shows lack of discipline, lack of strategy, lack of message and freelancing — just what a slipping campaign can't afford. "It's stupid, it's stupid, it's stupid. Get off the National Guard and all that bull. Every day we talk about the National Guard and Vietnam is another day that George Bush wins. No one cares about 30 years ago," a top Dem says.

Another tells of a focus group of swing voters this week where no one even mentioned Rather's Guard flap but an unnerving number "parroted back" attacks on Kerry as a flip-flopper who lied about his Vietnam service. "The Kerry people think they didn't attack Bush hard enough. They're dead wrong. More attacks on Bush aren't a reason to vote for Kerry," this strategist says.

Others suspect the driving force in going after Bush on the Guard is a deep rage inside Kerry and wife Teresa — remember how she tried to paint Bush as a shirker at the Democratic convention? — over how the Vietnam issue has backfired on the Democrat candidate.

It must be fun to be the NY Post headline writer.

Pat Caddell on FIX last night said Kerry's campaing is the worst run campaign in modern history.

Pat also had a very intesting contention - he thinks that Dan Rather isn't deliberately lying, but instead has gone so far around the bend that he simply cannot tell the difference any more. It's the only thing I've heard that makes sense on how absolutely crazed the rhetoric from the Dems has become.

Part of me eats it up because they're killing themselves. But another part is getting more and more concerned because we are looking at a large segment of the population is now moving towards clinical insanity as a prism for viewing politics. And it's fairly easy for the insane to cross the line into violence.

Yes! Kerry should stop with the Viet Nam/National Guard business and concentrate on his vaunted Senate record.

Does that sound stupid or what?

Kerry has stood for nothing except Kerry and that is all he is running on and all he has to run on.

Kerry makes Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton look principaled.

Actually, Terry McAuliffe is the one who keeps harping on the National Guard. And we all know who's hip pocket he calls home.

Kerry has no choice but to stay the course with Rather since he is the one who led Dan on the path of implosion. I bet they really hate each other by now but their common crimes forces them to be allies.

John Stossel said the same thing the other night. He said there likely was no intentinal partisanship and bias at CBS but that the media is so far to the left that they see any Republican idea as outrageous and think they are in the mainstream.

SKerry just doesn't get it. He thinks that since the Swift Vets story hurt him the NG story should hurt Bush. The problem is that SKerry really did harm his fellow vets while Bush, even if he missed a physical, even if he got special treatment, even if he didn't do his full 6 years, even if he drank like a fish, even if he snorted coke, did not do such harm. I don't believe half of what they want us to believe Bush did but if I believed all of it, it still doesn't matter now. At the very worst of what they want us to believe, Bush wasn't out there actively harming our country and our military.

F*ck You GOP. You did Clinton, We'll do George. Even if this precious idiot wins, We'll get him Impeached. So don't worry - one way or an other, he is TOAST. Deal with it.

All I can say is 'wow.'

SKerry doesn't stand for anything but himself and his vision of himself as president that is why he gets no respect.

I think Bush should use that Aaron Tipton song "You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything", everytime he talks about SKerry.

The entire purpose of a campaign is to be able to watch each camp develop their strategies and to see how they react, finesse, generally behave under pressure. I think we've seen just about all we need to see about how Kerry handles problems.

Frankly, I'm really tired of hearing about "Kerry hatred". I don't see anything of the sort here at Free Republice...and if it's out there, this is where it would show up. No, what we see here is Kerry derision...jokes, jaw dropping disbelief at our luck that he's turned out to be such a doofus candidate ...

If you want someone who hates sKerry, I am just about as close as you can find. I DO enjoy the derision of sKerry, but if he had any real (legal) chance of winning this election, the hate would probably come to the fore.

I hate him, and all his buddies who hurt my comrades in arms of the VietNam War... the way he belittled us in the eyes of the American people and the world. I hate his traitorous behavior.

I'll post another time a little anecdote of mine... - - -

I was personally spit on, as were many of my friends.

A buddy of mine here at Cornell had blood thrown at him, and others were assaulted.

This was due to sKerry's "testimony" of lies at the "hearings" as much as anything else. sKerry gave great credibility to knee-jerk egotistical pacifist isolationists. His charges against our brave military men have not been forgotten - but the Swifties are reminding the 'Nam vets and their families EXACTLY WHO did that testimony, and many of us who remembered that testimony had forgotten who had created such lies.

The effect on the morale of our troops was devastating. The leadership of the country was devastated, too. They had already been in a defensive mode to begin with instead of an aggressive "win the war" mode - they went into a "buy our way out of it" mode. Some pointed with credibility to sKerry's "we'd have to protect 3000 S.Vietnamese who might be harmed by the NV" --- that was always complete bunk, but people WANTED to believe it. Over Three million were killed after we left. sKerry was wrong there, and he lied about the rest, too. If the hearings had been more positive, it might have defused the peaceniks a bit, and we may well have gone on to make an attempt to stop micromanaging that conflict, and let our guys win the war.

Many of the culprits have recognized they were wrong - take David Horowitz as an example, as well as many FReepers who have stated as much here. sKerry is still trying to defend his indefensible actions.

Kerry's a bona fide liar. He and his VVAW buddies encouraged others to lie. He is as close to a traitor as anybody I know of.

I stated (at length in discussions) on a thread a some time ago that this is now not only a battle between the SwiftVets and the peaceniks of the 60s, but that this campaign has become a battle - a great battle - between the Old Media Fraudcasters and other mediots, and the New Media - with talk radio/ internet/ blogs.

This has become a battle to the death. Only one will be left standing. The 'Nam Vets (including me and many of my fellows in arms) are not going to be able to be silenced by the President or by the Demodogs or by the Fraudcasters. We know the truth. There is a great well of support we can draw on, and righteous anger about the way we have been treated. Many others are just as angry about how they have been misled by the Fraudcasters and the NYSlimes, et al, and they are now seeing a way to "get a bit of their own back.

Give the VietNam Vets the Parade they never got.

DEFEAT KERRY !!!

Isn't it amazing that even with focus groups telling the dems what Kerry should and shouldn't do, he still manages to mess up everytime? Ain't life grand?
