Kerry and 9-11

9-11 is a minefield for the Kerry campaign. In May 2001, frustrated FAA anti terrorism officials tried to get the senator's attention because of what they had discovered to be an alarming lack of security at Boston's Logan Airport, from which two groups of hijackers boarded planes that hit the World Trade Center.

As a March 2004 New York Post story recounted, Brian Sullivan, an FAA special agent in the Boston area, told Kerry in a letter dated May 7, 2001, that security at Logan was lax and warned him to imagine "a coordinated attack which took down several domestic flights on the same day." Sullivan's letter cited a sting operation he had helped engineer with a local TV station showing that in nine out of 10 tries, a crew got knives and other weapons through security checkpoints.

"With the concept of jihad, do you think it would be difficult for a determined terrorist to get on a plane and destroy himself and all other passengers?" Sullivan warned. "Think what the result would be of a coordinated attack which took down several domestic flights on the same day. With our current screening, this is more than possible. It is almost likely."

But the airlines fought efforts to improve security, according to Sullivan, because it would add to their costs, and the compliant FAA went along with them.

Sullivan's letter to Kerry disappeared into the federal bureaucracy.

Read up!! Link straight to newsmax.com but posted on FR as Kerry's Scariest Choice

"When questioned about this failure, the same Kerry who has recently insisted that his trip to Cambodia in 1968 was “seared – seared” in his memory, claimed that he “sounded the alarm prior to 9/11" and that he was told by the DOT that “they were doing an undercover operation" at Logan. Of course, neither was true: he didn’t “sound the alarm” and there was no federal security undercover investigation at Logan during the summer of 2001! "

there was a SECOND whistleblower who contacted Kerry with the same concerns, but Kerry wouldn't talk with him because he was from NH, and "wasn't a constituent".

Also, with Sullivan, I believe I heard that Sullivan wrote Kerry because his superiors weren't doing anything about his information, so Sullivan specifically asked Kerry to go further above them...but Kerry just went right back to the same stone-wallers....and dropped it.

This is the memo I kept thinking about after I read Kerry's transcript with Imus this morning. Saying that our airports still aren't safe.

I was screaming --

How does he say these things? This man has no conscience.

Yep, and the writer asked him not to send it to the Dept Of Transportation or FAA, but to take some action on it. Kerry sent it to the Dept of Transportatin.
This was 4 months before 9/11.
