Coelho blames Kerry woes on internal campaign strife
Washington Times ^ | 9/16/04 | Donald Lambro

There is a civil war going on in Sen. John Kerry's campaign organization that has produced a weak, inconsistent message and election strategy, veteran Democratic adviser Tony Coelho charged yesterday.
"There is nobody in charge, and you have these two teams that are generally not talking to each other," said Mr. Coelho, who managed Al Gore's presidential bid in the early stages of the 2000 campaign until he resigned because of ill health.
Mr. Coelho said the Kerry campaign has been seriously hampered by internal squabbling between campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill, brought in earlier this year, and senior political strategist Bob Shrum, a veteran of numerous campaigns going back to George McGovern's defeat in 1972.

It is a bit odd how this disgraced man from the dead has resurfaced after about a 10 year hiatus..

"squabbling in the Kerry campaign". Let 'em squabble. After the election they can squabble for 4 years about how they lost

Bob Shrum

I have to tell you that I am just astounded by the amateurishness of these people.

In the Kitty Kelley book, there is a quote about "maybe" George Bush going to Hazelton; it's one of the ONLY sourced quotes in the book.

And it's Bob Shrum's wife.

I love the sound of Democrats feuding in the morning...
It smells like.......victory!

The rats can't even run a campaign - and they expect to be permitted to run a Nation?

Not THIS time, NOT with their candidate...

Semper Fi

"I think it is sexist, and the reason is when a woman is running it. I experienced the exact same thing in 2000. 'Donna isn't in charge. Nobody's listening to Donna,' " she said

Sounds like someone has "issues".

"This campaign is in good shape, and Kerry is in good shape to defeat Bush in the fall," (Donna Brazile) said.

I think these democrats (including Dan Rather) are suffering from political psychosis. They are unaware of reality and refuse to acknowledge it whilst it is chafing their backsides.

Tony, you ought to jump ship before they start passing out the thorazine.

Kerry is supposed to be a Presidential candidate but can't even exert leadership over his campaign. What's more important-windsailing or running his campaign? What a total Loser.

actually, the incredible quotes in this article make the whole thing sound like a parody written for the weekly standard.
and to think these consultants are getting PAID real money by jfk for destroying his own campaign!
the only thing lamer than these consultants is kerry himself.

I remember the George McGovern debacle in '72. The Dems were so enraged at their loss that they pursued Watergate with a vengeance. What they couldn't gain legally at the ballot box, they achieved by utilizing the full force of the MSM to take over the government by forcing Nixon out. All based on a "good" excuse, of course. The MSM convinced the public that this was the correct course of action.

The recriminations have begun.

This promises to be an intensely ugly psychodrama characterized by appalling acts of treachery and betrayal.

And Tony, do you know the reason for "campaign strife"?

It's because there is no leadership at the top, Tony!

Tony, you know why there there is no leadership at the top, hummm?

It's cause your guy hasn't got a clue as to what he believes. And neither does anyone else!
