2 Top Dems Rip Kerry Campaign
CBS/Fox ^

Posted on 09/15/2004 8:35:42 PM PDT by politicalvanguard.com

On Fox: Pat Caddel long time Dem Pollster on Kerry Campaign: "This is about the worst strategizing, worst campaign management in the history of American politics . . ." CBS Online Tony Coehlo Rips Kerry Campaign : characterizing it as a campaign in chaos.

Longtime Democratic insider Tony Coelho lashed out at the John Kerry presidential campaign, characterizing it as a campaign in chaos. With yet another appointment of a former Clinton administration staffer to Kerry’s team on Tuesday, Coelho argues the problem is worsening.

“There is nobody in charge and you have these two teams that are generally not talking to each other,” says Coehlo, who ran Al Gore's campaign early in the 2000 presidential race. As Coelho and other detractors see it, there is a civil war within the Kerry campaign.

"In 1988, Dukakis: Shrum is involved. In 1992, Clinton: nothing to do with Shrum. They don’t want Shrum in any way,” Coelho says. “In 1996, they do not want Shrum in any way. In 2000, Gore doesn’t want Clinton people. We go forward, 2004, all of a sudden it’s the Shrum/Kennedy people.”

And Coelho adds that the Kerry campaign staffers “are in serious trouble now, so they want to bring in the Clinton people.”

"This is about the worst strategizing, worst campaign management in the history of American politics . . ."

LOL! Two months ago, the official Dem line was that Bush is worse than Hoover, worse than Hitler, worse than Caligula.

It wouldn't be like a Dem to stretch the truth a little, would it?

I'd said a few days ago that the Democrats would soon be trying to figure out who to blame for this coming a part of their candidate and their campaign. The biggest real reason though won't be touched. They put forth a poor candidate selling bad ideas. They'll never acknowledge that fact.

maybe they are beginning to see that the American people are JUST DON'T LIKE THEM OR THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS!

We are sick and tired of lying, aggressive panderers, jeopardizing our security JUST to regain power.

"This is about the worst strategizing, worst campaign management in the history of American politics . . ."

What do you expect when you have about the worst candidate in the history of politics to work with?

I said it before, I'll say it again. John Kerry is the most unstable, bizarre, ridiculous presidential candidate since that other war hero, George B. McClellan.

This is bizarre. I've been paying attention to presidential elections since 1972 and have never heard such severe criticism from within a party. Not before the election that is. They must be convinced it's hopeless. And they must really detest John Kerry.

If you can't run a campaign, how are you going to run a WH?

Hey Dem operatives, here's two words that will make you puke: George McGovern.

Proving once again the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Or in Kerry's case, the turd far from the ***hole. A couple more months and they'll have to face it that they picked a loser.

The other day I was thinking about how Kerry got selected...

Howard Dean was the frontrunner for 3 months before Iowa caucused. Lieberman and Clark decided Iowa would be a waste of money and focused on NH. Gepheardt (who won Iowa in 88) knew that 2nd place in Iowa would kill him. So he got nasty on Dean. Dean responded by blowing his campaign cash on attack ads against Gepheardt.

Those high negatives left caucus goers with a Hobson choice of Kerry, Edwards, or Sharpton.

The "come from behind" victory gave him the momentum to win in NH, super tuesday, then go on vacation and avoid any scrutiny.

Since the MSM expected a Dean win, they (and the other candidates) spent all their time scrutinizing him. No one ever took a critical look at Kerry's Vietnam record, his Senate "accomplishments", etc.

Anyhow, that's my take on it.

To me, it looks like the dems are throwing the election. Their candidate is such a joke. I'm not even sure HE wants to win. But if he does, they may need to put him on suicide watch for the next couple of months.

I've been voting since 1972, and didn't start paying too close attention until about the time of Jimmy Carter. You're so right, this is bizarre as all heck!

I am amazed that someone who has been in public office as long as Kerry has been so incompetent. It's like he's running for his first elected office, he's made so many mistakes.

I loved the segment of H&C with Pat Caddel and Michael Reagen. Reagen was able to sit there and grin, they let Pat go, he is so totally po'd ... it was G-R-E-A-T!

I just hope they are not trying to play the underestimated game with voters. You know, that because he is doing so bad no one expects much?

You know Howard Dean is still running around behind the scenes hoping to get Dem's elected in the States. for example here in Arizona his old Arizona Campaign Manager is running the campaign for Paul Babbitt who is running against Rick Renzi... he also managed to get backing for Babbitt from Move-on.org... Flagstaff is wildly liberal and I'm really worried on many levels if Babbitt gets elected.. by the way, Kerry has already indicated that BRUCE Babbitt (Paul's brother) would have an important position in a Kerry Cabinet -- not a good thing!

Pat Caddell is so frustrated with the democratic party he is turning into Zell Miller. Hey, I can dig that.

As Michael Reagan stated it tonight on Fox, (and I paraphrase) "the implosion of the Democratic campaign is the result of embracing their own victimology."
