:D
well, the rumor is that CBS has a second hit story floating around in the backroom to be
aired in october as its "october suprise" which pins bush as an outright coke head (that is why
he did not take the physical).
THAT is probably why they are clinging to it. not to mention, they do not want it to back
fire. it looks like everything is okay so far, i have not seen any huge bumps in the polls for
bush lately (he is holding steady, though)."
I know you're a newbie, but sheesh! Which threads have you been concentrating on the past few days? Just the ones pertaining to this story?
The Prez is up in polls all over the place, big time!
Also, please try and capitalize where it is necessary.
DUmmies are not big fans of grammar.
Some might think you're a DU'er TRYING to sow little seeds of doubt.
That won't work at FR.
BTW, where's LaRRy ThE CuCuMbEr?
This whole guard memo scandal has accomplished what the Kerry campaign most needed at the time. To divert attention away from Kerry's record and back to Bush's. Much like a fighter who has been up against the rope and is getting groggy from being so consistently punched, Kerry needed a break and this provided just that break. Lately all the news has been about Bush and Kerry has been able to play offense again. It was brilliant. But we need to put the focus back on Kerry and HIS record, in and out of Vietnam!
"Offense vs. Defense.
I've switched sides more than a few times trying to decide on how to answer this question and I've settled on offense.
Great defensive skills make a better fighter! However, judges rarely award points on defense. Judges do not know the meaning of ring generalship, anyone who saw the Christy Martin vs. Belinda Laracuente can attest. Unlike team sports where defense prevents the opposing team from scoring, in boxing it does not.
In boxing a great defense will lessen your chances of getting knocked out or injured but a great offense will always win you the fight."

Kerry admitted to worse atrocities. He wants to be the president, too. If people are outraged about underwear on heads, wait'll they get a load of what Kerry did.
Several other experts said the Foster note was a forgery.
They figured that the memo story only had to hold up for a few weeks to get traction and stop Bush's momentum. After that, so what if they turn out to be phony? They can spin that story until after Kerry's inauguration easily. They really didn't expect the whole thing to blow up in their faces in about twenty minutes.
So, now Rather is stalling while he tries to figure out a way out without going to jail or revealing his source (the Kerry campaign or DNC).
It's pleasant to think about, anyway.
"IF THIS SET OF DOCUMENTS IS FALSE, HOW CAN WE BELIEVE ANY DOCUMENTS THAT FOLLOW? C bs NEEDS TO REVEAL THE SOURCE OF THESE DOCUMENTS NOW!"
I've always wondered, how does one make a tin hat out of aluminum foil (two different metals, you know)? Is there a source of genuine tin foil from which one can fashion one's tin hats?
Pat Caddell was outspoken against Bubba, too.
Recalling the movie "Network," ole Dan is looking more and more like Howard Beall. Hmmm.... I wonder what the CBS Suits may have planned for him?
dunno where larry is.. question is why do i have an "e" on the end of tomatoE.. think '92.
as to what i am tracking.. its been this whole forgery issue which brought me here. i used to hang out on the hannity forms (im a darth there - havent visited in a while, though, because the libs over ran us).
someone asked why CBS is clinging to the story, i believe they are clinging to the story because if they lose the story (or its credibility) then they lose their chance to air their "october suprise."
i am very concerned about it because what happened in 2000 when the dems dropped that DUI at the last second. that is why i am (have been asking) what can we do as a community to crush this - and crush this now.
i want to see the rumor floating around mangled and destroyed before it has a chance to manifest its self.
i will pm you some other stuff.
thanks!
IF these are the new docs they came from the same 'poisoned well' as the first, but they will bring up inference of cocaine use. This is what the DNC's "Operation Favored Son" campaign is trying to do all along.
I think all of these Bush national guard stories have been beaten to death by the MSM. The cocaine stuff too. Bush had been Pres and CinC for 4 years. The public knows this man already. Pat Cadell on H and C tonight was exactly right. Elections are not about incumbents, they are about challenger and their abilities to sell a better mouse trap to the public. The press has been trying for 4 years to smear Bush and he still polls over 50% approval rating so the election is not about him. It is weather John Kerry can convince the public that he has a better vision and plan for the future of this country. As he has not told us what his vision is, the answer seems to be no.
Right. The memo is a forgery, so let's not feed it. The press has already made that well known. No one watches the old CBS anyway.
Now, about Kerry releasing the F180.
I've read the SBV's have found cases of Kerry records. So far (if those 2 on the net are real) Kerry forged his silver star. The documents, supposedly written by Kerry himself, say exactly what the Vets have said about the incident.
I wonder if the rules of securing documents are different for the Navel reserves (Kerry) as opposed to the U.S.Navy.
"I've always wondered, how does one make a tin hat out of aluminum foil (two different metals, you know)? Is there a source of genuine tin foil from which one can fashion one's tin hats?"
What right do you have to ask me these questions? What do you know of tin hats? Are you a republican? who did you vote for in the last election? Why your just an amatuer sitting there in your pajamas! Did you ever fight in Vietnam?
Speakin of PJ's mine are very inviting about now! Freep you later!
I think that it all accidental; that there is no intelligent plan in the DNC camp. Never-the-less, when the Swiftvets produce the document signed by Admiral Zumwalt saying Kerry is "Unfit For Command" the Dems/MSM will all scream that it is "another" forgery. They will be screaming so loud that no one will hear the voices saying "Sign form 180".
PING
CBS anchor Dan Rather acknowledged for the first time yesterday that there are serious questions about the authenticity of the documents he used to question President Bush's National Guard record last week on "60 Minutes."
"If the documents are not what we were led to believe, I'd like to break that story," Rather said in an interview last night. "Any time I'm wrong, I want to be right out front and say, 'Folks, this is what went wrong and how it went wrong.'
(snip)
Some friends of Rather, whose contract runs until the end of 2006, are discussing whether he might be forced to make an early exit from CBS.
Absolutely right. Knowing that IBM, beholden to its shareholders, would not and should not get involved, CBS could have simply put out a call and got every IBM Selectric, Executive, Composer or whatever within a couple days. Other than that absurdly high-priced Selectric on eBay (pricey because of the coverage it got), these things can be found at thrift shops and elsewhere for about $10. They could also just retrieve the technical information from IBMs archives and at least start from there, instead of trolling for has-been repairmen offering worthless opinions. The reason they won't do something so obvious as to just get one of these extremely common typewriters is that they know damn well the docs are fake and cannot ever be reproduced on such machines. This by itself establishes a presumption in any reasonable person's mind that CBS knows the documents are frauds.
"Teddy Kennedy's "borking" of Robert Bork was several years before Clarence Thomas was nominated for the Supreme Court."
I stand corrected. If "who drew first blood" really matters anymore, it would have to be the Left's "borking" of Robert Bork.
Shit, I think I have a problem...
OK, I admit, I'm a weekend toker. However my roomate smokes several times daily, and I am exposed to secondhand marijuana smoke at least twice a day. Right now, I'm having problems with remembvering things, and often my train of thought will completley derail. I wonder if it's due to my daily exposure to secondhand pot smoke.
Remind you of anybody you've heard from lately? It almost sounds like a freeper sleeper. Too good to be true, so to speak.
Har har.
