"But why and when were they also sent to USA Today?"

Broaden the focus. Remember what happened. Many newspapers keyed off the 60 minutes story and ran with it. The forgery guys figured this would add some spice if a newspaper also had received the docs.

You get the feeling the fraud was perpetrated by someone who knew how the MSM worked don't you.

Not just that, but Dan Rather was the keynote speaker at a Democrat fundraiser for the TRAVIS COUNTY DEM PARTY. Coincidentally, Ben Barnes has been the Director of the Travis County Dem Party.

"The Washington Post gave front-page play on Wednesday to Howard Kurtz's report that Dan Rather helped raise $20,000 for the Travis County Democratic Party in Austin, Texas." ---http://www.townhall.com/columnists/brentbozell/bb20010406.shtml

DNC won't be able to slink away because the Feds are going to be checking who used that Kinkos, and then check their home phone records and computer/e-mail to see who they were in contact with, this could end up exposing a "Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy" to disrupt a Federal election, this is BIG TIME!!!! folks.

I have my doubts. Any overt investigation will be spun as fascism or suppression.

The U.S. Attorney would be the logical person - the FBI works for him doing the investigation. The DOJ or Attorney General could also do it. This is for the federal crime, of course.

If a state crime of fraud, forgery, etc. has been committed, it would be investigated by the local police or state police, and charges brought either by the local state attorney or a grand jury.

Henry Cisnero's ex-mistress Linda Jones( Medlar )lives in Abilene. Maybe Henry is envolved. He lie to the FBI.
He was accused of 18 counts of conspiracy, lying to a law enforcement officer, concealment and obstruction of justice. A little forgery couldn't hurt, huh? Hehehehe.

"Has to go to Kinko's to send a fax?"

Maybe he didn't want it traced to his own fax number.

Jim Rob is worried about just that. An angry mob descending on Kinko's at midnight within a tank full of gas from the Hurricane might just bring some bad press to FR.

In a brief change of pace...

""Clothing is wonderful, but let them go naked for a while, at least the kids," said Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites). "Water is necessary, and then generators, and then food, and then clothes."

OCTOBER 3, 2000 : (TEXAS : BEN BARNES, ROBIN RATHER & SIX OTHERS SPONSOR A FUNDRAISER FOR RONNIE EARL - ROBIN RATHER IS THE DAUGHTER OF CBS NEWS' DAN RATHER) Kerry Spot reader Frank observes that on October 3, 2000, Democrat Ronnie Earle hosted a fundraiser for his race for District Attorney. The event had eight sponsors. One of them was Ben Barnes, the star of 60 Minutes II’s report on President Bush’s National Guard years.
Another one of the eight sponsors was Robin Rather, daughter of Dan Rather, an Austin-area “ passionate environmentalist and community activist” who has given $12,500 to Democratic causes in the last three election cycles, including $1,000 to John Kerry on March 15 of this year.
One wonders… by any chance, did Robin Rather introduce her father to Ben Barnes? --- "BARNES AND ANOTHER RATHER, MEETING EARLIER...," Kerry Spot/NRO, 9/12/04

This is big, folks! We need Ashcroft & the FBI to investigate an obvious forgery transmitted across state lines. (Or if we are really serious, we need to call in the Texas Rangers.)

Can you say "serious jail time"?

"CBS News' reporting determined that the source of the memos had access to the documents he provided and an opportunity to obtain copies of them"

You are correct. We have found the source of the documents. Now, I am betting Mapes and Burkett are in this together. I hope they realize they have commited a felony.
