Maybe someone has made this point already, but I believe Bill has been overwhelmed by criticsm from his viewers and listners and felt he had to let her speak or risk losing his audience. He let her go on uninterrupted more than normal.
She always holds her own. I like that she gave him a little stroking and a little room, but she called him on his fence straddling and condescension.
