I hope ALL the media in this country is watching this unfold. Dan Rather is giving them a lesson on what reporting is supposed to be. Sputter, sputter, cough, hack, sputter.

There are words in there that belong not to the Air Guard.
How can she say that having never "belonged" to the army

she decided to report her recollection of the time period to the media after hearing White House press officials say the information in the memos was false. Evidence of coaching, right there. Or bias. The WH hasn't made a comment one way or the other regarding these documents, other than Laura's comment that she thought they were forgeries.

As I understand it, it would be hearsay, and more to the point...
...hearsay from an 86 year old woman (many are sharp, but all suffer from memory troubles)...
recalling overheard conversations from over thirty years ago...
...about one obscure 1st Lieutenant among hundreds her boss commanded...
...a lieutenant Killian's own family says Killian held in high regard...
...and who was held in high regard by many other officers who served with him...
...in a situation that Killian wouldn't have been concerned with in the least, namely Bush's flight physical status while working for another wing wasn't having him fly and wouldn't have recognized Killian's ratings or orders...
...ratings and orders, BTW, that were inconsistent with normal practice and Air Force regs anyway.
Yep, all sorts of credibility there. Plus she says there's no way she typed the memos, so CBS is still screwed with a capital screw. If I worked for CBS News, I'd be looking around for a lifeboat.

Gee .. she looks a little bitter She's already said that Bush was "selected"; not elected.
It never ceases to amaze me what people will do for 15 minutes of fame.
To: pitinkie
This is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen a news person do, leading the witness.
She said the memos are FAKE!
He just asked her if she thought W got in because of who he was, she said that she knew OTHERS did so why not W??
This is UN BE LEEVE ABLE!!!!!

She 'feels' GWB got into the NG by preferential treatment.
Feels, but no first-hand knowledge.
[What a hit piece. Wonder how much prompting she got on the plane ridge to NYC?]

He's asking her about things that she can only answer based on her "feelings", such as his attitude.

The secretary says that it was a
A BIG NO NO..... Oh no, not that. An order issued by a personal memo that doesn't exist......
"I'm going to say that he did".....This is what Andrew Heyward wants to hang the credibility of CBS on?
Andy and Dan think this is the heyday of Hillary and Bill, and the pre-super bowl party.
To: Howlin
You got her, Bush's BD is in July, not May.
