SECRETARY TO BUSH'S NATIONAL GUARD COMMANDER SAYS SHE DIDN'T TYPE THE MEMOS BUT THAT THEIR CONTENT IS TRUE IN AN INTERVIEW ON THE CBS EVENING NEWS AND ON 60 MINUTES Wed Sep 15 2004 18:57:00 ET
September 15, 2004
Marian Knox, the secretary to President Bush's National Guard commander, Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, says the content in controversial memos is true but that she did not type them. Knox, who said she was Killian's "right hand," appears in an interview with Dan Rather on the CBS EVENING NEWS and on tonight's edition of 60 MINUTES. A transcript of Evening News report follows. Transcripts of the 60 MINUTES report will be available later this evening.

LOL.. sorry.
Well, Rather has been in jungles before, I'm not sure we want a camera team with him this time.. !!
Does anyone think this defense is going to work?
CBS wants to shift the focus away from CBS/forgery to the contents yet to counter with Killian's son/wife would achieve that goal. To not counter leaves the impression that the secretary is telling the truth, no?
Don't forget we are the choir in here. The masses will see a nice old lady who says the documents are fake but what they say is true. Rather will say "See - I told you so. Now its time for Bush to answer the questions." The masses will then wonder why Bush hasn't answered the questions (even though they have been answered - its the preception, not the facts that matter). It then becomes way too complicated for the masses and they say - OK - Bush was AWOL - he's no different than Kerry. And that's all that Kerry wanted with this thing - he got what he wanted - Bush is dragged down to his level. The MSM then covers nothing but the Bush AWOL story.
It will be interesting to see if the secretary is available to talk to anyone else.
My guess is She WILL not be.
Try this..."I didn't write the Bible, but I know it's true!.."
That was Rush's concern all along about McCain-Feingold.
It would leave the political stuff to the very unbiased press.
Of all the aspects of this story, this is the only one that really matters right now.
CBS' strategy is preposterous. Relax.
He's caught between "the longing for truth" the "struggle to keep leftward tending."
If Juan gets any more shocks he may turn into Michael Jackson.
No, I think people will see that CBS wants them to believe what's in fake documents.
Dan Rather must have skipped his ethics course. This line of logic is the same as cops who plant evidence because they believe the suspect is guilty.
Who's older, the Bush hating secretary or the Bush hating forgerer?
All 86 year old ladies are not senile. This one looked sharp as a tack and ready to do battle for Rather. She's one of those yellow dog Texas dems.
However, she wasn't quite prepared to lie.
I will believe she is credible either: when hell freezes over or when she will go on with Laura, Sean or Rush to be questioned.
I'm wondering also if Dan Rather will be interviewing Killian's son and widow?
I'm also wondering if pigs will fly anytime soon?
From what I gathered, even Killian's son had met Bush and admired his military bearing at that young age. Someone to look up to.
I watched the CBS Evening News (9/15/04) to find out who was behind it. I was floored to learn that Wal-Mart is perhaps the largest supporter of Dan Rather's lies. I live in a Wal-Mart town and worked for you for 4 years. I now am self-employed and spend about a hundred bucks a week in the store here. Two words: NO MORE!!! You won't get another dime out of me as long as you support the anti-American, anti-Free Enterprise socialists at CBS. I'm cutting, pasting and forwarding this message to the hundred or so hard-working folks in my address book. I'm asking them to forward it on. My Grandma used to say, "Sleep with dogs, wake up with fleas." Better start scratching, this ones going nationwide!
Please feel free to join me in letting other advertisers know how disgusted we are with their enabling this pap. It may be hazardous, though, beacause it involves watching the pap.
