Was she interviewed by a reporter...I'm sorry this is the first time I hear about this! I'm just shocked that Danny boy would actually yank this 86yr old lady outta the nursing home for the purpose of saving his hide!! Is Ms. Knox on record denying ever knowing anything about this whole fiasco?!

If she's going to be browbeaten, they may as well do it right and demand to see her medical history for treatment for DEMentia.

Most (good) secretaries type on automatic, not "reading" the documents as they type but merely typing the letters and words. Good point.

Why would this secretary's word be more valuable than LT COL Killian's SON and WIFE? Why, after all these years, does she suddenly remember?

From another thread, in the letter by Col Wambaugh:
Contributing to the Air National Guard's Air Defense mission, Lt. Bush flew hundreds of hours in the F-102 -- the world's first supersonic all-weather jet interceptor aircraft; he served his country protecting the United States.
Another question, excuse me for not understanding Air Force lingo. Does "flew" hundreds of hours mean maybe one hundred filghts, or would you factor in all the pre- and post-flight time.
I am trying to nail down a rough idea of how many times Bush actually got into the cockpit of the dangerous F-102. I am so screaminlgly sick of the military-hating left trying to portray him as a shirker.
My (ex) brother-in-law flew C-130s and hours ticked by on each flight. So he racked up "hundreds" fairly quickly.
Have to go out now, but will check back in a few hours. Thanks again.

Okay, more for me. No additives or preservatives or added sugar or salt, and made from a recipe brought to this sleepy burg in 1872 by Bavarian immigrants.

I've read that while it was not easy to get into the ANG in 1968 as an enlisted man, it was easy to get in if you went in to be an officer. Don't know whether that's true.
So no special string-pulling would've been needed.
Plus when Bush went in, they USAF ws flying F-102s in Viet Nam.

Is Ms. Knox on record denying ever knowing anything about this whole fiasco?! There are a couple of versions by now. Common to all is that she never typed the memos. In one or two, she says they reflect the sentiments of Killian. One in a Houston paper, I think, says she never knew Bush, but a lot of privileged guys like him got special treatment. And recently, I saw one that says she typed private CYA memos for Killian that he kept locked in his desk.
I gather she was not a private secretary to Killian, but a pool typist.

F-102 range was 1,000 miles. Cruising speed 600mph. But range means out and back, so maximum of 3 1/3 hours. However typical intercept training mission would be much shorter, 1-2 hours I would think. That's just flight time. There's also suit up, preflight briefing, preflight the aircraft (at least a walkaround, the crewchief would have done the actual preflight), fly the mission, postflight debrief and/or critique, shower and then it's Miller Time. Total duty time maybe 5-6 hours, with point credit for only 4 (although base pay for a full day, no housing or subsistence allowances)

Do you suppose they expect President Bush to go on
60 Minutes a la BJ and The Hildebeast in 1992? Don Hewitt may be retired but I'm sure, like Staudt, he still has power and influence, and he can use it to save not only the Bush presidency but CBS's behind. Rather'd go for that, right?
When Gennifer Flowers bombshell revelations were set to derail Clintons presidential bid in 1992, the Clintons went to Hewitt and 60 Minutes. Hewitt edited the segment brilliantly. Clinton was the repentant husband, Hillary the hurt wife. The 60 Minutes segment was credited with saving the Clinton candidacy.
Hewitt later bragged in an on-air interview that he got Bill Clinton elected, but he expressed anger at Mrs. Clinton. She did not think the 60 Minutes program had portrayed her well, and Hewitt was not invited to White House dinners.
