Mrs. Knox said signs of forgery abound in the four memos.
She said the typeface on the documents did not match either of the two typewriters that she used during her time with the Guard. She identified those machines as a mechanical Olympia typewriter and the IBM Selectric that replaced it in the early 1970s.
She spoke fondly of the Olympia, which she said had a key with the "th" superscript character that has been the focus of much debate in the CBS memos.
Beyond that issue, experts have said that the Selectric and mechanical typewriters such as the Olympia could not produce the proportional spacing found in the disputed documents.

Hey there, truthseeker, I LOVED my Selectric! It made me lots and lots of money typing student papers in the olden days, before computers. You really get to like certain typewriters for the way they feel, sound, etc. It's a secretary-thing. Mxxx

From 1976-1979 I had a college work-study job interning at my local city hall for the city council. It really amounted to being a secretary to 2 of the 5 part-time council members. They literally were given a large closet for an office and our office equipment were cast-offs from other city departments with a miserly budget for stationary, and other consumables, like pens & carbon paper (we had very limited access to the copier).
The typewriter I used was the IBM Executive, which was mentioned as one of the few with proportional spacing at the time. No one else in City Hall wanted it, that's how I got it. It had a correcting ribbon, but if you put an "i" where an "m" needed to be, you were never going to get it to look right. (An "m" was 4 back spaces, an "i" was 1 or 2). And forget the carbon copies. My bosses were very forgiving of this college student as she butchered their correspondence.
That typewriter and I had a love/hate relationship. My typing skills had to improve, the machine was unforgiving. Eventually I got used to it, and became an excellent typist which tied in well with a career in the early stages of data processing (think punch cards!!) Eventually they replaced it with the mundane IBM selectric (courrier & elite, 10 pitch or 12, how BORING). But I still think back fondly about that typewriter.

There has been MORE speculation over the unlikelihood that these "typed" memos would match precisely with MS-WORD document kerning.
Well the Democrats DID have that compelling animated ad that showed President Bush pushing an elderly person in a wheelchair off a cliff.
I also loved the typewriter I used at my first secretarial job! Is this a common phenomenom? When I'm old and drooling on myself and can't remember my kids names, I think I'll be happily typing away on my IBM Executive!
Hillary is much younger than that and had a lot of trouble remember things.

Sorry, I didn't mean to act as a thread sherriff.
Someone else sent me a private e-mail reprimanding me too.
My point was that the lefties would be likely to
roast us if we pointed out her age in the context
of discussing the story.
Once I had phrased it that way, it immediately
became clear what hypocrites the lefties would
be if they tried it, as evidenced by the second
half of my posting.
I'm sorry for any inadvertent friendly fire,
it was NOT my intent. :-(
I think some are getting the F 102 mixed up with the F 104. The F 102 had delta wings, the F 104 had stubby wings.
