According to Borders' employees' own website: Booksellers Intentionally Damage UNFIT FOR COMMAND
Borders Union ^ | Sept 15, 2004 | Borders' Employees

Posted on 09/15/2004 8:08:11 AM PDT by bigsky

Take a second to read through the astonishing postings (link below) on Borders unions website. As you will see... the attached postings are primarily from really annoyed liberals, and a couple of them refer to ongoing tactics to keep UNFIT FROM COMMAND away from the public.

Here's one example:

"We're 'finding' that most of the few copies we're getting are damaged and need to be sent back, so sad. Too bad, Bushies! Regnery needs to be more careful. I'm hearing from people at 2 other stores that this seems to be common.

Why should we help destroy what's left of our country?"

or how 'bout this one...

"You can probably get Regnery's corporate number from Books in Print or off the web. I'd keep it handy and then whenever a customer asks for this book, tell them that Regnery isn't keeping this book stocked and it may be because Regnery is a pinko-commie-fag publisher who's trying to bury this story by not printing enough copies of this book. Tell them you even read on the web that Hillary Clinton is on Regnery's Board of Directors.

And, after all, you did just read on the web that she's on the Board and that it's pinko-commie-fag publisher so you wouldn't be lying. Well, maybe you shouldh't use "pinko-commie-fag." How about pacifist lesbian outfit? Not that there's anything wrong with that."

...or this one...

"You guys don't actually HAVE to sell the thing!

"Just 'carelessly' hide the boxes, 'accidentally' drop them off pallets, 'forget' to stock the ones you have, and then suggest a nice Al Franken or Micheal Moore book as a substitute. Borders wants those recommends, remember?

"I don't care if these Neandertals in fancy suits get mad at me, they aren't regular customers anyway. Other than 'Left Behind' books, they don't read. Anything you can do to make them feel unwelcome is only fair. They are the people pushing retailers to cut costs, don't forget. And they would censor your speech, your books, your music in a heartbeat, so give them a taste of it!

"Don't get mad, get even!"

Unbelievable!

(As we all know, Wal-Mart is well stocked with communists.)

I hate to rain on your parade but the corporate board of Wal-Mart contributes to the Republican party.

Borders better act.

Money is money.

Besides as conservatives we are all earning over 200k a year and buy more books than smelly liberals.

If enough Freepers and conservatives decide not to tolerate this Nazi behavior from Borders, they can end up like a lot of the MSM fishwraps.

In some real financial trouble:

Newspapers lower; Tribune warns

By Brendan January, CBS.MarketWatch.com Last Update: 10:10 AM ET Sept. 15, 2004

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - Newspaper stocks were mostly down Wednesday after Tribune Co. lowered its third-quarter profit outlook.

The Chicago-based media company (TRB: news, chart, profile) also warned that television revenue for September has been softer than anticipated, owing to the way that political advertising has been targeted primarily to certain "swing-state" markets.

As revised, Tribune Co. now sees third-quarter earnings of 49 cents to 51 cents per share. Wall Street, on average, had been looking for a profit of 54 cents, according to a survey by Thomson First Call.

Shares of Tribune were down a dime at $40.25.

Journal Communications (JRN: news, chart, profile) reported that August revenues for its publishing and broadcast groups increased 8.5 percent to $39.4 million, up from the year-ago $36.4 million.

At the daily newspaper segment for August, total advertising revenue was $14.6 million, an 8.4 percent increase from $13.4 million a year ago.

Journal shares were last trading down 16 cents at $17.54.

Newspaper publisher Pulitzer (PTZ: news, chart, profile) said comparable sales for the four weeks ending Aug. 29 rose 4.8 percent. The publisher of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the Arizona Daily Star said comparable advertising revenue increased 5.8 percent.

Pulitzer fell 9 cents to $49.25.

Other newspapers stocks were down Wednesday morning. Gannett (GCI: news, chart, profile) fell 55 cents to $86.23. New York Times (NYT: news, chart, profile) slipped 19 cents to $40.86. Washington Post Co. (WPO: news, chart, profile) dropped $1 to $909. Dow Jones (DJ: news, chart, profile) declined 27 cents to $41.51. Knight-Ridder slid 20 cents to $64.68.

"I gotta go and get out of my jammies ;) and run some errands.

Please remember to put on something else before going on those errands.

Else you will find you have to run very fast during your errands. 8

However, here at the University of Chicago, Unfit for Command is right up in the front of the store (Barnes and Noble) on the bookshelf that sells all the NYT bestsellers.

Walmart put Clinton in office ii Ark, and in DC.

They were (behind the scenes) a BIG player in getting (cheap) Chinese imports into their stores, and now, probably 2/3 of their products (by quantity) are imported.

Fairness doctrine, campaign finance reform, swift boat vets, Rush Limbaugh.

Seems for people who are constantly complaining about censorship, it's liberals who really want to stifle political debate. They are the one that are Nazis at heart, no matter what they say.

To: bigsky; All

I ordered Unfit for Command and Tommy Frank's new book from:

BOOKSAMILLION.COM

They were delivered free because of their combined $ cost and the total cost was about $30.

As usual I sent a copy of my order to the local private Nazi book store and the local chain Nazi book store.

Order the book from BOOKSAMILLION.COM and send a copy of your order to the Board of Borders with a copy of what their Nazis are doing with "Unfit for Command!"

Inform the board of Borders, they are the new Nazis, and the next ones to disappear by their own actions.

Sure. We made a display with "My Life," some medical diet books for heart disease, and exercise guides. Anything to drive those sales.

I don't buy anything from Borders or Barnes & Noble or Waldenbooks because the management or the libs they hire in the stores all seem to love to put the trash and lies from the left in the front of the stores and hide or don't stock books from Hannity, Bennett, Ingraham or John O'Neill or other patriotic Americans. Some business model, huh? They are only hurting themselves because there are a lot of conservatives who would love to get their hands on the latest conservative books at the inflated prices the bestsellers command. Go elsewhere and do to them like you should do to the advertisers on CBS - boycott!! This is a term that liberals love to use but not if it hurts them.

I got my Unfit for Command from the Conservative Book Club yesterday (google it - they have all the best and right-styled books). I hope to finish it this weekend.

Go to Borders.
Find what book you want.
Go Home.
Order from Amazon.

Problem will be gone soon.
