It is an article of faith with millions of Americans, most of them on the left, that George W. Bush is stupid. Many reasonable people think his policies are ill-advised, but millions more insist Bush must be a moron because he sounds stupid.

The president's tortured "Bushisms" are chronicled daily and have been collected in books. Two of the more notorious are "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family" and "Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."

It is now being discussed on Boston radio so I changed my mind.

This particular columnist is one that I rarely read, but I do consider him to be completely vile!

While the article is totally worthless, irresponsible speculation it is true that Americans have faced this situation before;

Reagan certainly was deteriorating noticeably in his last years in office. He probably never did recover fully from Hinkley's attack.

Woodrow Wilson was seriously incapacitated for the last two years of his Presidency. He might not even have been functional.

Grant had a serious drinking problem. I'm not sure how serious.

There may have been others I don't know about.

Ok, this is my take on it for what it's worth.The President has a slight speech impediment that I notice mainly because I have the same one.Next time you hear him speak pay attention to the way he pronounces the letter "S" he has a very slight or as the professionals would call it a soft lisp.This is not something that can't be controlled but it takes a constant effort which may explain why his speech sometimes seems strained especially when he uses big words with the letter S in them.

The nation needs to realize that we are not voting for a president, we are voting for a president, his platform, which falls on his political party, and his private agenda within the parties agenda that is fulfilled by the cabinet members and advisers. A vote for Bush at this point is the same a vote for Kerry, there will have to be change, but until Bush announces that change will occur my vote will go to the one that guarantees Change, and that vote is Kerry.
