Former secretary says she didn't type memos 04:10 PM CDT on Tuesday, September 14, 2004
By PETE SLOVER / The Dallas Morning News
HOUSTON The former secretary for the Texas Air National Guard colonel who supposedly authored memos critical of President Bushs Guard service said Tuesday that the documents are fake, but that they reflect real documents that once existed.
Marian Carr Knox, who worked from 1956 to 1979 at Ellington Air Force Base in Houston, said she prided herself on meticulous typing, and the memos first disclosed by CBS News last week were not her work.
These are not real, she told The Dallas Morning News after examining copies of the disputed memos for the first time. Theyre not what I typed, and I would have typed them for him.
Mrs. Knox, 86, who spoke with precise recollection about dates, people and events, said she is not a supporter of Mr. Bush, who she deemed unfit for office and selected, not elected.
I remember very vividly when Bush was there and all the yak-yak that was going on about it, she said.

Yeah! I am glad they found the secretary for the Lt!
What a gem of a woman at 86. Those were the years when we "secretaries" really were the ones who ran the office and had excellent recall to this date.
You Go Girl!
What is this poor old soul talking about? The Democrats are pathetic.
"Exactly, just WHY would there be all this "yakking" about GWBush not serving back then?..."
Yup, that caught my eye as well. Actually, the whole thing smells fishy and contrived.
He will say that the importent thing is that this lady said they used to exist.
You know....I worked as a secretary at about the same time as Marion Carr Knox, albeit not for the Guard or a governmental agency, but if somebody asked me today how my boss felt about this or that back then...I don't think I could give an honest answer. It's hard to believe that she would remember precisely how her boss felt about something. I'm sure he had lots of other things to consume his time with other than Lt. George W. Bush.
And the Swift Boat Vets continue on.
Exactly. In their view, that gives it legs, or at least the ability to level the charges because after, there is a basis for them now. (/pretending to be a sick obsessed Democrat)
Dan will say, "even if the memos are not the originals and may not exactly match the originals in appearance, they still reflect the facts about George Bush's time in the National Guard, based on witnesses who were there at the time."

What if Killian retyped the memos into msword before he died?
As Rather would say, "It took a lot for her to speak the truth."
heh heh.... I mean, this is from someone who prescribes to the conspiracy theories of the election. This would be like Howard Dean debunking these memos. lol
She is living proof that we need to find a cure for Alzheimers.
...OMG...Im going to stroke out..

87. ONE MORE TIME: There is not, nor has the ever been one, I say, ONE...
...shred of evidence that indicates the documents were forged. Not One! Everything has been a partisan smokescreen designed to cloud the content and the issue: gee-dubya was AWOL and DID NOT meet his National Guard obligations.
Keep in mind the White House refuses to confirm or deny the documents.
So the lady has an axe to grind. No supporter of the President.
Hes not a typewriter repair dude. Hes a manager of typewriter repair dudes who may have never opened a typewriter in his life.
Since she's a Kerry supporter, her statements must be disregarded.
I don't do photoshop, but someone needs to take the LOTR tower of Sauron and put that big ole CBS EYE on it.
Why do I get the impression that she is the one who forged these documents?
