Someone got ahold of my credit card and charged a subscription to the "Girls Gone Wild" web site. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

It took us 2 years to clear up the mess after I experienced identity theft. Make sure you fill out a police report. That was what saved us from being responsible for anything when the collection agencies called. It is sort of funny about moveon.org if it wasn't so serious.
Why do I have that special feeling?

We get these low-dollar "donations" all the time on the FRN site. Scammers use low-dollar contributions to non-profits to test the card -- to see if a charge will go through. If it does, they manufacture fake plastic and take it into the bank for a cash advance. They will keep doing that until the account is depleted. |
I wouldn't report it. Sounds like they're spending less than your wife ever did....
My credit card was stolen but when I got the statement the thief was spending a lot less than my wife so I just let him keep it.
