Well, folks, it's a done deal. Thanks to all who called, emailed or faxed the governator. I guess he thinks it's OK to use big ugly guns in the movies, but he doesn't want the peasants to have them.

I think I'll write him another letter, and "thank" him. I carried petitions for the Gray Davis recall at area gun shows. There's gratitude for you.

Hmmm
AB-50
LARGE CALIBER RIFLE & AMMO BAN - Would ban/restrict the sale and possession of .50 Caliber BMG rifles and ammunition. Subject to certain exceptions, would include any .50 BMG cartridges, as defined.
In the spirit of supply and demand, I guess we will see if 50 cal rifles drop in price.
Probably not. Sorry about that, but it is still Kalifornia!

Me neither, I'd rather be here unemployed in Texas (as I am) than take a $150k CA job.

Let's keep this in perspective, folks. This bill is one small piece of the gun-control issue, and gun control is just one issue among many, many important ones.
Any thoughtful comparison confirms that Schwarzenegger is, overall, far better than Gray Davis.
To: .38sw
This can't possibly surprise anyone.

AB50 bans the 50 BMG rifle. But nobody needs one of those, anyway. They're no good for hunting.

A ban on .50 caliber rifles. Next year it will be .49, and the year after that it will be .48 ...

???
I consider freedom to be a pretty big issue. And this is another assault on freedom and the Bill of Rights. That's my perspective.

CA might as well just get it over with and ban all calibers. It has the liberal rulers to do so.
