To: HAL9000

Ok, ok, lets compromise on this. Carter was the worst president, Clinton was the worst man to be president. I just can't get past the damage Carter did to this country. Clinton was an embarrasment and had no morals, but the damage to our country wasn't as bad. We still have not recovered from Carter's policies on Iran and the Middle East.

That's a reasonable assessment - but it is important to realize that Clinton was politicallly paralyzed for a couple of years due to the impeachment (thank to Paula Jones and several others).

You may be underestimating the amount of damage Clinton would have inflicted if the scandals had not emerged. In January 1998, Clinton was Supreme - then the Lewinsky scandal was reported. He would have caused much more damage to the country during his second term if we had not slowed him down.
