You would think that after covering seven or eight presidential administrations--particularly Nixon and Clinton--Dan Rather and CBS would know that the cover-up always generates more attention and damage than the original crime.

Rather and CBS have become the news--news that is rapidly eclipsing any ancient history on Bush's air guard career.</p>

Excellent program. Very good commentary all the way around.

The criticism was significant, and it was from mainstream news personalities who were not wearing pajamas.

We don't know that. We only see these guys from the waist up.

It's time to call this what it is: obstruction of justice.

Rather and CBS are covering up the criminal act of falsifying government documents which were forged for the purpose of influencing the outcome of a national election. By knowingly stonewalling this, Rather may be more ethically culpable than if he had been the one to forge the documents in the first place.

The fact that Rather would expose himself and what little is left of his his journalistic reputation is very telling. Certainly, he wouldn't twist in the wind for Karl Rove or the RNC. So, obviously, the source is from the Dimwit side.

I think Rather does not want to go out as the snitch who hammered the last nail in the Kerry coffin. Instead, he goes out as a befuddled old man who let his political giddiness get ahead of his common sense and integrity.

Bookmark for further study.

I think this is the breakthrough, folks. Rather is hoist on his own petard (if he has one).

I'm wholly unimpressed.

The other members of the ID MSM are covering for their peers.

The correct answer is that the story is a fraud and CBS is either corrupt or stupid. That's the only way to phrase the story.

Even FOX is describing how CBS can get out of this mess.

They didn't pass the honesty test. This is a test for all of the media and they all failed. Fox included.

I have this image of Rather in about a week, holding up a used typewriter ribbon, ink on his hands, screaming...here is the original...it is all right here. I took the time to see what is typed on the ribbon.
