What can you tell us? These two sigs were compared to known docs from Jerry Killian, from WH docs.
She intercompared the WH docs and all four of those appear to be consistent.
Then, she looked at the CBS docs, intercompared, the partial and full sigs, both of them are Partial sigs…ending stroke of “J” always finished his FULL name “J E R R Y”…but in the forged docs, NO “E R R Y”…numerous differences. The J is not the same…K is not the same…very , very different. These two sigs from the CBS docs were NOT from his hand.
BRIT asks her about the rest of the docs, the text of the docs…?
Working off copies, possibility of authenticating using COPIES…word processing system came to her mind.
A REAL forensic expert looks at the ENTIRE DOC, she was struck that they were computer generating, used WORD and the default wrap around etc. matches. Plus the superscript, proportional spacing etc also draws her to conclude that they are very probably not produced by Typewriter

This woman was the most clear and concise guest I have heard re the fake docs.
I wonder who Rather is protecting. The identity of his source could be one of the biggest stories of the year. I wonder if other media, out of competitive rivalry with CBS, will go after this.
You heard it right. I don't know if it's the same guy who was at the rally in WDC this weekend, Steve Pitkin, but it may be.

He may be protecting someone but I think it has at least as much to do with hubris as that.
I would have thought ABC/NBC/CNN would have buried this out of professional courtesy but the fact that they have reported on it so extensively means all bets are off. They may very well go after this source.
