On DUmmies Inc. they're dismissing it as a cover up by the VRWC.

Does this mean that Kerry will get a BCD for the "V" on his Silver Star?

How many, beside myself, have had the feeling the DUmmys are behind the SeeBS/Blather "latest finds?"

Oh my! How will Tom Oliphant defend the Globe for using a partisan internet source for some of their information in their articles.

Oliphant, remember, took the Swift Vets to task for being a partisan internet group and therefore unreliable for a grat publication like the Boston Globe.

Get on him Freepers! Write him and the Globe today.

Looks like this story is getting some legs. Washington Times has picked it up online.

I don't think the DUhmmies are that smart....or well connected. I think this was an engineered attack by certain unscrupulous individuals in positions of some influence. Of course, no one is going to claim responsibility, but somebody will pay for it. You can bet on that.

The easiest test is the space between rows. The example fails that simple test. You get to the end of a row, hit carriage return & type the next row... While roller bars were not fine precision machinery & there would be a minute difference from one machine to the next, it would not be as readily discernible as can easily be seen using a simple tool & with the naked eye, if we're going by the samples provided by PC Mag.

Believe it or not, this FReeper "discovered" fonts back in 1971. Any half a$$ed print editor should know this stuff like the back of their hand, as they would have to know if an article turned in by one of their intrepid reporters would be the right fit for the alloted space.

Did PC Mag even consult with any of the layout guys who print their own paper version? Bet they don't even print it themselves, so it's possible it would be a nearer drive for me to go ask one of 'em myself.

Now as to that test, I used a basic matchbook cover. I lined it up to the top of the letter "y" at the far right, on the top line & look where the bottom of the matchbook cover falls. Do the same with the other sample & it's easy to see the bottom falls in a different place on the corresponding letter. We start getting into those special characters discussed at length, something noticably missing from the sample provided by PC Mag & seeing differences in verticle placement is easily seen, even without the fancy tool.

I'm an Ex Air Force Personnel Specialist and people wore the ribbons (AF Outstanding Unit Award) as long as they were members of the Unit in question, when you left the Unit and you were not there when it was awarded originally you removed the ribbon.

Maybe its technically wrong but that was what was done in the 70s.
