9/11 Commission Nixed al-Qaida Link to Flight 800?
NewsMax ^ | 9/12/04 | Carl Limbacher

The 9/11 Commission rejected evidence that al-Qaida may have played a role in the 1996 downing of TWA Flight 800, investigative reporter Peter Lance claims.

What's more, says Lance, the evidence of an al-Qaida link was first presented to 9/11 Commissioner Jamie Gorelick when she was deputy attorney general under President Clinton.

On Thursday, Lance shared details of his new book, "Cover-up: What the Government Is Still Hiding About the War on Terror," with ABC Radio Network's John Batchelor.

Documents uncovered by the former network news reporter show that weeks before TWA Flight 800 exploded off the coast of Long Island, Ramzi Yousef – mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bomb plot and the author of the blueprint for the 9/11 attacks – warned the FBI he was preparing to blow up a U.S. airliner.

"They had an informant in a federal prison cell in lower Manhattan who'd been passing notes to the FBI from Ramzi Yousef," Lance told Batchelor.

While in jail Yousef was befriended by fellow inmate Greg Scarpa Jr., who was awaiting trial on a racketeering charge and who occupied the cell between the al-Qaida bomber and his partner, Abdul Hakim Murad.

Scarpa, who saw a chance to reduce his sentence by sharing what he found out with counterterrorism probers, agreed to act as a conduit for messages passed between Yousef and Murad.

The mobster began secretly cooperating with the FBI, which went so far as to allow Yousef to make phone calls to the Middle East so they could monitor them.

Lance told Batchelor, "At least one call went to his uncle, Khalid Sheik Mohammed," who masterminded the 9/11 plot based on Yousef's blueprint.

By the spring of 1996, Yousef's notes to Murad became ominous – featuring detailed schematics of the bombs to be used and how they could be smuggled past airport security.

On May 19, 1996, Yousef told Scarpa that he advised his people to start the bombing of airplanes.

According to a translated summary of his note to Murad that same day:

"Yousef gave a very detailed paper on how to smuggle explosives into an airplane. He referenced RDX explosives and 747 airliners. He gave detailed information on the weights of explosives and flying heights of airplanes and the types of explosives to be used as well as where they should be placed in the airplane."

Two months later almost to the day, TWA 800 – a Boeing 747 – exploded in midair, killing all 230 passengers and crew aboard.

The Justice Department's decision to keep Yousef's warnings to Scarpa under wraps during the Flight 800 investigation was political, said Lance – a bid to cover up tracks that should have been followed but weren't.

Likewise the 9/11 Commission, where ex-Justice official Jamie Gorelick played a role in determining which evidence was relevant to their probe – and which was not.

Of COURSE it's irrelevant. You can't blame Flight 800 on Bush.

Gorelick was instrumental in the corruption of TWA Flight 800 terrorism investigation

We are so Sorry for 9-11
September 11, 2004
By Kamal Nawash

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and “intellectuals” blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and “steal” Iraqi oil.

After numerous admissions of guilt by Bin Laden and numerous corroborating admissions by captured top level Al-Qaida operatives, we wonder, does the Muslim leadership have the dignity and courage to apologize for 9-11? If not 9-11, will we apologize for the murder of school children in Russia? If not Russia, will we apologize for the train bombings in Madrid, Spain? If not Spain, will we apologize for suicide bombings in buses, restaurants and other public places? If not suicide bombings, will we apologize for the barbaric beheadings of human beings? If not beheadings, will we apologize for the rape and murder of thousands of innocent people in Darfour? If not Darfour, will we apologize for the blowing up of two Russian planes by Muslim women? What will we apologize for? What will it take for Muslims to realize that those who commit mass murder in the name of Islam are not just a few fringe elements? What will it take for Muslims to realize that we are facing a crisis that is more deadly than the Aids epidemic? What will it take for Muslims to realize that there is a large evil movement that is turning what was a peaceful religion into a cult?

Will Muslims wake up before it is too late? Or will we continue blaming the Jews and an imaginary Jewish conspiracy? The blaming of all Muslim problems on Jews is a cancer that is destroying Muslim society from within and it must stop.

Muslims must look inward and put a stop to many of our religious leaders who spend most of their sermons teaching hatred, intolerance and violent jihad. We should not be afraid to admit that as Muslims we have a problem with violent extremism. We should not be afraid to admit that so many of our religious leaders belong behind bars and not behind a pulpit. Only moderate Muslims can challenge and defeat extremist Muslims. We can no longer afford to be silent. If we remain silent to the extremism within our community then we should not expect anyone to listen to us when we complain of stereotyping and discrimination by non-Muslims; we should not be surprised when the world treats all of us as terrorists; we should not be surprised when we are profiled at airports. Simply put, not only do Muslims need to join the war against terror, we need to take the lead in this war.

As to apologizing, we will no longer wait for our religious leaders and “intellectuals” to do the right thing. Instead, we will start by apologizing for 9-11. We are so sorry that 3000 people were murdered in our name. We will never forget the sight of people jumping from two of the highest buildings in the world hoping against hope that if they moved their arms fast enough that they may fly and survive a certain death from burning. We are sorry for blaming 9-11 on a Jewish or right wing conspiracy. We are so sorry for the murder of more than three hundred school children and adults in Russia. We are so sorry for the murder of train passengers in Spain. We are so sorry for all the victims of suicide bombings. We are so sorry for the beheadings, abductions, rapes, violent Jihad and all the atrocities committed by Muslims around the world. We are so sorry for a religious education that raised killers rather than train people to do good in the world. We are sorry that we did not take the time to teach our children tolerance and respect for other people. We are so sorry for not rising up against the dictators who have ruled the Muslim world for decades. We are so sorry for allowing corruption to spread so fast and so deep in the Muslim world that many of our youth lost hope. We are so sorry for allowing our religious leaders to relegate women to the status of forth class citizens at best and sub-humans at worse.

We are so sorry.

Some VERY powerful people got Gorelick ensconced on that "commission", powerful people that are not looking out for what's best for America.

An excellent letter. The problem is that these Muslims mainly Americans who are viewed by many Muslims to be "heathens." The other problem is that the "mainstream" media ignores them because they don't quite fit the "religion of peace" agenda.

Read the book "The Third Terrorist" by Jayna Davis for positive proof of a link between middle easterners and Oklahoma City and TWA 800. I got my copy on the internet.

If you are interested in following that line, look for David Schippers work related to the M East connection to OKC.

Serious stuff....

I've seen Laurie Mylorie and Jayna Davis' info on the Internet and I find it very interesting

That we have continued to deny or remain silent on these links (if they exist) would be destructive in two ways: first, the truth should be known. Second, that there is a white-supremist tendency in America and that it could be linked with Islamism should never be cloaked by any effort to attack the whole right wing of American politics. If the Islamist links exit to OKC, then the Clinton administration may have capitalized on the lack of knowledge of this fact to smear all right-wing opposition to the Democratic platform along with them.

We can't as effectively fight the white supremacist movement by linking it to the whole right wing, just as we can't keep Americans informed and educate them regarding this particular antisemitic temptation if we ignore this important potential, especially if we have strong evidence that it exists.

See the key word VANNA for much more on the topic of Nazism's modern incarnation in Islam.

I don't think (or I hope) that people think OKC was about white supremacy. I (would hope) that most would see it as Timothy McVeigh's idiotic and horrendously inappropriate response to Waco.

Did Tim McVeigh have sympathies, possibly with Iraqi agents? maybe so ...

Yes, I think the government made a good case that OKC was partly about white supremacy; consider McVeigh's links to Elohim City. Consider his homages to William Pierce’s Turner Diaries, and his references to the Ruby Ridge incident (the Weavers were white supremacists). The Clinton administration kept us continually reminded about these facts, while failing to mention Elohim City's possible links to the Iraqi Republican Guard, McVeigh's opportunity to have met Jose Padilla, and Terry Nichols' opportunities to have met Abu Sayef.

I had never heard of the Turner Diaries before McVeigh and I definitely don't want to read it now, so I'll have to take your word on that. If that is what it promotes, it certainly is in gross error, to say the least.

Ruby Ridge was another one that didn't have to happen but I hadn't heard any white supremacy thing. I didn't pay close attention to the details on that other than when it got real bad.
