ALERT: Reports are now exploding across newspapers, television and the internet that CBS News, led by blatantly biased Dan Rather, used forged documents during a "60 Minutes" segment Wednesday night in an incompetent attempt to smear President George W. Bush's National Guard service. Clearly phony, these "new" documents were easily debunked overnight by solid evidence from forensic document experts, typographers and retired military officers.
Closer examination quickly proved the supposedly 30-year- old documents were generated in a modern-day typeface from a printer, not a typewriter, negating CBS News' excuse that the documents were aired because they passed handwriting analysis.
Yet Dan Rather PUSHED to air the groundless smear in an obvious attempt to counter President Bush's jump in the polls. As evidence of fraud mounts, Rather and the network have refused to name their source OR their expert who supposedly "authenticated" the documents.
At BEST, Rather and the CBS News staff are guilty of gross incompetence by allowing their desire to smear the President outweigh their professional duty to properly check the facts. At WORST, CBS News may be guilty of deliberately reporting what they knew to be false, and engaging in libel and slander against the President of the United States during a time of war.
Americans nationwide need to DEMAND accountability from the media -- and we've set up an easy way for you to do just that.
TAKE ACTION: You can click through below to use (or edit) our online letter, demanding that CBS News release the name(s) of its sources and air a retraction as the documents are proved to be forgeries. Tell the network to drop its blatant anti-Bush bias and stop trying to sway the election with unethical and unprofessional "reporting."
Furthermore, IF anchor Dan Rather pushed this story because of his bias, he deserves to be FIRED -- so you might even want to ask CBS to dump him NOW and clean house, so that CBS News can offer fair and balanced reporting worthy of regaining public trust.
Let's go right to the TOP -- click below to contact CBS CEO Leslie Moonves himself (a copy will also be sent directly to CBS News):

NOTE: Be sure to forward this Alert to everyone you know who's sick of seeing the leftist mainstream media attacking President Bush with unfounded -- even forged -- allegations, simply in order to defeat him in the election. Thank you!
They are over paying him !
Will not happen.
even if Rather was found with two dead boys in his closet.
Yeah, if they don't dump Rather, we'll stop watching. Oops, too late.
I figure the reason Rather ran this garbage is because the only audience he has left are the halfwit rubes who wouldn't know the truth if it bit them where the sun don't shine.
Will not happen.
even if Rather was found with two dead boys in his closet.
One can dream, can't they. CBS may actually realize that they have no other choice at some point though.
Watching Fox News Coverage of the tape of Rather "explaining" how the memos are legitimate just looks so much like tapes we used to see of Saddam Hussein released to his nation....
Watch them and see what you think.
Will do. CBS better start covering their line in the sand. They lose, we win.
Why would we want to help CBS? Let them help themselves or die. IOW, they made their bed. Let them sleep in it.
They NEVER will! It's not in their character.
I wrote my letter to CBS News NY last night. It was a good one. I was wired for sound when I wrote it. I have vented. CBS will no doubt delete this and many others as well. They do not care about public opinions or ratings. Only their obsession with socialism. But Please, hammer the fools with emails.
love to see it happen. since we are dreaming- send OReilly over there and let John Gibson or Tony Snow take over Oreilly show.
Dont watch CBS News so I won't have to see Oreilly.
Its a dream.
Who do you ask, though? That is the question. They aren't going to fire themselves. The stockholders are going to have to get mad. Viacom owns CBS. But Viacom is run by leftwing nutcases as well. What really needs to happen is that the stockholders of Viacom need to get mad, and knock some heads together.

Maybe Dan will put up a rope in his basement, and do us all a favor.

AN EDITORIAL FROM TOMORROW'S INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY:
Could it be that CBS and Rather wanted to take Bush down a peg especially given the questions about John Kerry's Vietnam service raised by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth?
And could it be that CBS and Rather let their well-documented political leanings overrule their journalistic sense? Have they become just another hack voice in the political game?
Sadly, the answer seems to be yes. CBS' bias made it vulnerable to a hoax that fit nicely with the network's left-leaning culture. . . .
It now appears CBS made a grievous mistake or knowingly relayed false information. If so, what credibility does it have left? Even an on-air correction won't undo the damage.
CBS would go a lot further in restoring its credibility if it at least checked into the source and authenticity of the memos.
If it's shown that Democrats or the Kerry campaign are the source as suggested by comments to the American Spectator by an unnamed Kerry staffer CBS better say so.
If the documents prove to be forgeries, resignations from Rather and CBS News President Andrew Heyward would be in order along with a sweeping sweeping review of ethical practices at a once-proud news organization.
I find it funny that prior to this CBS deception broke out, his original story accused of Bush not releasing documents. "What is Bush hiding?" Now that the tables are turned, Rather refuses to release his source and the original documents.
