DNC TO LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON BUSH GUARD DUTY: WILL RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT 1978 CAMPAIGN LIT
**Exclusive**
Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.
"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't," slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.
Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.
In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."
MORE
Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.
The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Project Fortunate Son."
"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."
"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

Imagine the RNC countering claims of collusion with the SwiftVets by running ads attacking Kerry's Vietnam service. Insane, right? Well, that is exactly what the DNC is doing here.
It is such sheer luncy that it makes one realize that even McAuliffe is not this stupid. This is clear evidence of the DNC purposely torpedoing Kerry's campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton.

If talking about stuff that happened 30+ years ago is a winning strategy in the middle of a war, I will sign a pledge never to talk politics again. These Democrats are nuts...
Just suppose that in the 1944 elections some Republican had run against FDR on the basis of meetings he might have missed in 1910 and whining about "Why are we fighting in Italy against Mussolini when Hitler is still in Berlin?" - that guy would have been put in a straight jacket.

Surely someone by now has got a hold of Kerry's (cough) mental, I mean medical records. I mean, once a crazy, always a crazy, right?
But seriously, does any of this really matter to the average voter? I just don't see where they are trying to go with this. It is all getting ridiculous, IMHO.

is anyone else tired of hearing about swift boats and typewriters?...both of these political parties are getting on my nerves...Let's see if I've got this straight, newbie. You think the swift boat vets are on the same credibility scale as the forged documents?

"It is getting difficult for the Kerry campaign to bust through their own swill to get a message out there. They are pathetic and this will go down as the most lame campaign for President since at least Mondale and possibly McGovern." Kerry hired Shrum to run his campaign. Shrum is 0 out of 7 so far in Presidential campaigns.
On November 3, he'll have lost his 8th Presidential campaign.
For the record, McGovern was a better candidate with a better campaign than the amateurish nonsense that we've seen from the Kerry Staff so far. Heck, even Dukakis' effort was better than Kerry's '04 run.

I don't know where they would get that idea .. Rassmann said Bush was up 3.1 points. Evidently, the public isn't buying the CBS stuff.

Wow dude. This unrelenting dnc demorap sheet is glorious. Day after day, week after week of 60s and 70s stuff. Tie dyes and dope and free beer. Dried Grapevine has it the the Kerry boys are about to come out with a plan for some small unnamed Ohio school with the National Guard. Maybe Bush did not show up for duty there either.

IN CASE THE DNC HAS FORGOTTEN, PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM HIS MILITARY SERVICE.
Enough said.

Okay,
Now I'm convinced that this whole CBS story has the Clinton's handwriting all over it.
This is doing NOTHING but negatively influencing Kerry and he's falling for it hook, line and sinker.
I've also heard rumor that Dan Rather's daughter Robin is the source for the Rathergate Memo. Anyone else hear that? Anyway to move it out of the rumor mill to possible legitimate source?
To: Crazieman
We already know, and hopefully the American people will soon come to know, that Kerry is trying to win this election by default. The guy has nothing to run on, and so KERRY not Bush, is trying to take the discourse of this election from the real issues. Plus, Kerry is hoping the latest Swiftboat adds go unnoticed.

FNC saying it is based on newweeks analysis of missing drills.
This was covered 6 MONTHS AGO!
Dems are reaaaaaaaly desperate if this is their best.
They can't beat the truth of the swiftvets. (I really think its funny Kerry was able to sleepwalk in a combat zone.)
To: Crazieman
They're doing the same idiotic thing they did by endlessly trying to hype Kerry's (minimal) Nam service. I love the smell of desperation in the morning.

"Every day that goes by with junk like that in the news cycle, there is no chance for any Kerry message, none." That's why they're doing it....their boy has no message. He doesn't think on his feet either. Unless the debates are highly skewed, Bush is gonna clean the floor with Kerry, and if he works it just right, Kerry will blow a gasket in the process and his hatred with be seen boiling over on national television close to the election.
