DNC TO LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON BUSH GUARD DUTY: WILL RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT 1978 CAMPAIGN LIT
**Exclusive**
Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.
"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't," slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.
Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.
In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."
MORE
Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.
The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Project Fortunate Son."
"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."
"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

compared to Kerry who has concealed ALL military records and will not fill out the simple two page request to open his file for all to see...
(perhaps it contains a record of Kerry's sleepwalking!)

"Don't tell me - they tried WordPerfect this time?"
My guess is WordStar 6 on a vintage Leading Edge 86 machine with a centronics dot matrix printer.

Laura had a car accident when she was a teenager and the boy in the other car died. There is a cannon in the yard at Robert E Lee high in Midland in his memory.

Technically we wear there patch as the combat patch. I proudly wear my 3ID patch, as I as a reservist went along for the first assault into Baghdad(well not quite all the way I was injured before it near Nasiriyah). But I earned the right to wear it. Just like I deserve call myself proudly as a member of the US Army and US Army Reserves.
Question: Can a group of us get together and write a press release condemning this new tactic? I am sure that if somebody had the proper skills we can garner enough e-signatures in a short period of time to at least get some press time.

a daisywheel printer is not very distinguishable from a typewriter. Prelaserpringer it was the only way to have a proper legal professional document.

gee what did MammaT have in her sordid past? Oh she was not born in the USA or raised here.

Suggestion: don't say anything. Let them do this. Continuing to harp on GWBs service is only going to raise his poll numbers. These Kerry guys are total idiots.

No matter that Killian could not type. In the next round, they will simply use the name and good reputation of someone else long dead. Perhaps this time, they can find someone who does not have any surviving family to come forward and dispute their story.

This is great! The Dems are bankrupt for ideas and have no idea how to run a campaign. They are going to get killed in November. Keep it up Kerry!

Take note that those fake docs are on it as well.

Questioning Bush's NG record as if to suggest Bush will be a weak Commander In Chief just does not make sense to me either. What is the point to this. What is the strategy! There is none. This is just pure unadulterated vengeance - for the Swift Vets ads being successful while their years of smears and attacks did little to hurt Bush. It's a party that lacks any self-discipline and operates off of pure emotion.

Write it and I'll sign it. I hope your injuries were not severe and you have recovered. I fortunately was not injured, although during a mortar attack I was knocked out of bed and hit my head, of course this would have been cause for a PH for Kerry..LOL..Thanks for serving..Mike1sg

P.S. I'm still waiting for the Swift Boats Ads to tell America about JFKerry meeting with the enemy in Paris. There was a very powerful and moving "Vietnam Vets against Kerry" rally in D.C. today and many speakers referenced that issue. John O'Neill spoke and I think he was one of the several who brought it up.
I think it will be getting more attention in the coming days.

I was replying to the comment about laura. It wasn't her fault and it is old news, so that is nothing to use against her.

sure, I never said they were republicans. yes, these people are uninformed - alot of uninformed americans vote, and their votes count just like everyone's here does. you want 60 Senate seats? I've got news for you, to get there, we need these votes.
my point is - if we want this forged document story to make inroads amongst voters who aren't already on our side, more needs to be done. maybe a 527 could pick it up and make it the central theme of an ad on media bias.
