DNC TO LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON BUSH GUARD DUTY: WILL RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT 1978 CAMPAIGN LIT
**Exclusive**
Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.
"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't," slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.
Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.
In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."
MORE
Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.
The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Project Fortunate Son."
"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."
"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

"Somebody said to me this is one of a possible forgery because of the superscripting on it. Either way why would the forger make a forgery that contradicts something they are trying to do?"
Maybe they were practicing forgeries to see how they worked out, or had some other anti-Bush purpose for this document? I think the CBS docs were not the first attempt at this kind of thing. I wouldn't trust anything from the "awol bush" FOIA doc dumps.

Democratic National Committee communications director Jano Cabrera disagreed. "For months George Bush told the nation that all his military records were public," he said. "Now we know why Bush was trying so hard to withhold these records. When his nation asked him to be on call against possible surprise attacks, Bush wasn't there."

I think club for growth can make an ad like that-- like they did against Dean in Iowa.
I think the fact that Kerry wouldn't voluntary raise his taxes in Mass (on his Senate salary-- which is far more than the Avg. American family makes in a year) when he has Terry Ketchup's billions to fall back on is instructive. He won't check the box to voluntarily raise his taxes, but he wants to raise yours. I think that resonates. Along with the Breck Girls decision to incorporate himself to avoid $500, oo in Soc Security and Medicare taxes. I think that is very relevant.

What's next?
Are they going to go back when GWB was running for President of the 6th grade class and he didn't keep his election promise of getting chocolate milk in the cafeteria?
Oooh, he might have promised to allow chewing bubblegum in the classroom as well, let's fry him!!!!!

Guard pilots come into the Air Force under Title 10 for training.
They are trained and treated the same as any active duty Air Force officer. There is no distinction made. They are USAF officers.

"It reveals the details of embarassing photographs of Bush that actually caused U.S. Govt. agents to perpetrate the anthrax mailings to destroy the building of National Enquirer and kill photo editor Stevens."I wonder if Couric will bring this up when she interviews Kelly. I never watch the program, but it would be impossible to do so with a straight face. We all know why Kelly will talk about it, it has to do with the number 4 followed by 000,000.!!!!

Kerry has to have a few screws loose, arguing about minutae about whether or not the Air National Guard is part of the Air Force isn't going to convince anybody to vote for him.
Its better for Bush for him to continue on this, its a losing strategy, the people, the electorate, want to know how he is going to wage the war on terror if he's elected. Whether Bush's campaign lit from over 25 years ago was misleading or false or not isn't going to impress anyone.
Kerry apparently has no confidence in his ability to just present his own platform, and try and convince the electorate to vote for it.

What can we expect from a bunch of kids who haven't even been close to anyone in the military who are now running Kerry's campaign?! If people got to see they are nothing but a group of elitist snobs who couldn't clean President Bush's shoes according to military standards they would be so *issed.

IIRC this information was within magazine articles in women's magazines. The statements were made by immediate family members. One of the people was a Kerry daughter. One of the other statements was the "shove it" person. One of the comments I remember is that the "shove it" person was very afraid during one of these episodes.
My best guess would be to search the well-known liberal women's magazines like Vanity Fair, etc.
It's been posted here on FR, but I couldn't find a thread for it. Maybe I just don't know how to search properly.
