Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.

"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't,"  slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.

Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.

In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."

Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.

The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Project Fortunate Son."

"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."

"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

For once, Clinton is right. Candidate Kerry AKA Boy Kerry seems dedicated to shooting himself in the foot. He's quite insane, you know, pulling the same old stunts that didn't work in the first place. That's the classical definition of crazy. Trying the same failed tactic again and again and expecting a different outcome. But TeRAYza thinks we're "idiots," so I suppose he thinks he can get a good result eventually with a losing strategy. Maroons!

I think that I read something about this on DU. They are going to raise an old question about some statement that Bush made about having served 600 days in the Airforce, as an active duty ANG pilot. They claim that the Airforce does not consider his time with them as actually in the airforce. This was another old campaign issue in Texas, that didn't work. The Democrats are just trying to flood the media with accusations against Bush, knowingly false allegations. The point is to overwhelm the public with trash and drown out the truth about John Kerry.

If I go to the official history of the Air National Guard at http://www.ang.af.mil/history/Forging.asp the very first sentence reads " The Air National Guard as we know it today -- a separate reserve component of the United States Air Force..." (bolding is mine)

It is going to really hard for Kerry to get away with a claim that Bush exagerated or claimed something improperly, whne the ANG says it is part of the USAF.

They would have an small iota of a argument if Bush said nothing about the ANG and simply said USAF, he didnt so this argument is dead before it hits the water. From Bush's old unit which is now a f16 unit: Mission Statement "Conducts worldwide combat operations with the F-16C aircraft. Performs home station Air Sovereignty Alert and F-16 General Purpose role. Trains to mobilize and deploy in accordance with the USAF war and mobilization plans and tasked theater plans. The 147th Fighter Wing is responisble for the command, direction, planning, and management of subordinate squadrons in fulfillment of the Wing's mission."

• * Change riders.
• * Buy a stronger whip.
• * Do nothing: "This is the way we have always ridden dead horses".
• * Visit other countries to see how they ride dead horses.
• * Perform a productivity study to see if lighter riders improve the dead horse's performance.
• * Hire a contractor to ride the dead horse. (Can be as useful as a saddle when it comes to protecting your arse!!)
