What's intersting is that in the list you found of this guy serving on the USS Diodon in '63-66 , he is listed with the same name as he has now.

You would think the list would include the name he was known by when he was on the ship. If that's the case, then he has the same name at the time he served on the ship as he does now.

And the Seals can not find a record for him under that name. I wonder if he actually served on this ship.

I can add two things to the discussion:

1) Ahmad Majied was quoted in an Atlanta Journal Constitution Article on Sunday June 30, 2002 about the Sydney Dorsey trial. (P. 1C). For those who aren't from the area, Dorsey was the former sheriff of DeKalb county who was indicted for ordering the murder of the new sheriff-elect Derwin Brown.

He pretty much thought that Dorsey was guilty.

Here's an excerpt:

At a recent lunchtime gathering at Carter's Grill, a half-dozen customers thought the former DeKalb sheriff was guilty.

"If an animal like that got out in this community, we wouldn't tolerate it," said Ahmad Majied, an imam in Albany's Muslim community. "We're too afraid of what that germ would do to all of us."

2) I located an abstract from a New York Times article in 1975, which stated that an Ahmad Majied and three other black muslems (including 2 children) were tragically shot at and wounded in Chattanooga, Tennesee. NYT, 7/3/1975, p. 9, col. 6 for any FReepers who want to search the microfiche.

Did you (or anyone) check out this "Mustaqueem Graydon" Piano store with the same number? I found a lawsuit involving a Georgia bank and a Mustaqueem Graydon.... (there cannot be two people in Georgia with THAT name).....
I can use my dh's Lexus to search for the lawsuit if there is a connection between this person and the "alleged" Navy seal.....

My guess is that the guy’s 75% adverse to the publicity, 25% interested in havening a good natured chat with someone who really connects with him. He sounds like a nice ole good natured southern black gentleman who’s seen a lot of all sides of human nature.

Maybe the lawsuit is on the web or located on electronic county records. Can you search your electronic county court records? That may be interesting and may turn up the guy's original name. He may have had to change it because of the lawsuit. I really hope this doesn't turn out to have been connected to that Georgian funeral company that never buried bodies (the Dem fund-raising family).

I "may" be mistaken, but he’s not one of those 10. I grew up in Texas, and he sounded southern African American. In a scale of 1-10 in that regard, he was a 6 or 7. He was someone almost anyone would like.

I'm just not buying it. He should be able to come clean with his Class number. As I said earlier, the AP and this gentleman are asking us to take his word for something that has not been vetted properly. It's not as if the AP is known for its truth-telling.

There were only 260 SEALs in Vietnam during the whole ten year conflict. What are the chances that this guy isn't known by someone -- either by his former name or the one he's using now.

At the risk of repeating myself, any SEAL knows why someone would ask for proof of his claims. They are not offended when you ask. As I stated earlier, AuthentiSeal gets over 200 claims a week about people claiming to be SEALs, why should his credentials not be questioned.

It's just a matter of time. I've forwarded the information from the pdf file to AuthentiSeal, which specifically states that if you've changed your name, how will your shipmates/teammates know who you are now?

I just took a quick tour of the Master Chief Petty Officer page, and could not find one out of the ten that appeared to be a SEAL. At least none were wearing a Trident, and I didn't see anything listed on their bios.

Can someone else double check the page to be sure?
