Also, the NGOs hire them for $12-$14/hr to be *grassroots activists* (IIRC, about 20-30 hrs/wk). I've seen the classified ads in some of the leftwing magazines, like Mother Jones. I think that was what has fueled a lot of the anger against Bush: after 911, the $$$ dried up for many of these groups and then the $$ began to be funneled to the 527s. I wonder how many of the paid activists are being paid w/Tides $$$$ (THK & Soros)?
I have been told they are mentored and taught how to apply for grants. They are told to take every dime they can from the system and to give nothing back, that this is a revolutionary act. The *grants facilitators* are the trustafarians.
The ones around here seem to live pretty rough and a lot of them band together in communes, especially the younger single men.
Yet they seem to be able to afford *organic* food. Organic whole milk runs around $7/gallon, IIRC. And the prices I have heard for pot is outrageously high, IMO. Hundreds of $$/oz. I know some parents who have had recent problems w/their HS kids selling it to afford their own habits.
I know people who were bailing out their *kids* when the *kids* were 40. Thankfully, the ones I know who were doing this have stopped and adopted tough love policies. Probably too late, at that point, though.
