Televangelist Paul Crouch, founder of the world's largest Christian broadcasting network, has waged a fierce legal battle to prevent a former employee from publicizing allegations that he and Crouch had a sexual encounter eight years ago.
Crouch, 70, is the president of Trinity Broadcasting Network, based in Orange County, whose Christian programming reaches millions of viewers around the world via satellite, cable and broadcast stations.
The source of the allegations against him is Enoch Lonnie Ford, who met Crouch at a TBN-affiliated drug treatment center in 1991 and later went to work for the ministry.
After Ford threatened to sue TBN in 1998, claiming that he had been unjustly fired, Crouch reached a $425,000 settlement with him. In return, Ford agreed, among other things, not to discuss his claim about a sexual encounter with the TV preacher.

Like the sun coming up in the morning, the self righteous spokesmen for the Lord eventually implode from their own pomposity
Pomposity and greed, I think.

Whenever someone says they watch this carnival christian crap, I immmediately take off 50 I.Q. points.
It shouldn't count if the viewer is able to prove that he/she is only watching for the pure entertainment value.
(I love to watch Robert Tilton and the guy in the bad wig that casts the devil out of people and they shake and fall down.)

Aren't they all GRPL members?

Paul and Jan propagate a false view of Christianity with their plastic hair, their made for TV gold paint sprayed furniture, glozzed on make up, their propping up of "faith healers"... if Jesus were here today he would turn over thier money tables and flog them for giving the world such a distorted view of the sacrifice of Christ. They have been entrusted with much, I've been entrusted with little... You tell me who is to receive the harsher judgment.

What's yer point? Televangelists as a group have proved themselves to be about themselves... Besides, why would I want to know someone like them personally? eeek!

"Is it like a Televangelist law or something that their women have to use a trowel and a leaf blower to apply mascara and eye shadow?"
Apparently, it's the eleventh commandment. Thou shalt not go on TV without a pound of makeup.

Ahem.
TBN is NOT Christian.
What are they???

It's so sad though Appy. I used to go to a church and one of the older women (just as you mention)was grieving for her husband who got pneumonia and died rather suddenly - they were in their late 50's. She was inconsolable because she believed she didn't pray hard enough and so on - she was always watching that TBN and I never liked them and many of us tried to tell her that she had to forget about the lies the televangelists tell. Also, IMHO, these guys do more stuff that works against the Kingdom than anyone else I ever see and I think a lot of people are soured on hearing the gospel message because of them.

"Maybe it doesn't really matter, since you like the idea that all of us unwashed heathens will die horrible deaths from fire, disease and famine, just because we rejected the Bravo-Sierra spewed-forth daily in the Name of a Holy and Righteous Creator of the Universe by compassionate, upright christians as yourself." Next time take a deep breathe and refrain from your next fifth of moonshine before unloading your obvious deep-seated psychological baggage.
Perhaps I can justify your hysterics by assuming one of those "upright Christians" gave you an @ss-whuppin' when you were just a tyke?
But then again, there are more than a few of those who you maligned and mocked who happen to be serving right now who wouldn't at all mind reprising that childhood situation for you.

Man, I'd bet that every morning, they wheel her into an Earl Scheib paint booth and apply that make-up with high pressure hose sprayers. That big hair is another story in itself.

Paul Crouch is a thief. I hope this more than ruins him. Frankly he should go to prison and be some big guys "girlfriend". Justice is after all, "getting what you deserve".
