Televangelist Paul Crouch, founder of the world's largest Christian broadcasting network, has waged a fierce legal battle to prevent a former employee from publicizing allegations that he and Crouch had a sexual encounter eight years ago.
Crouch, 70, is the president of Trinity Broadcasting Network, based in Orange County, whose Christian programming reaches millions of viewers around the world via satellite, cable and broadcast stations.
The source of the allegations against him is Enoch Lonnie Ford, who met Crouch at a TBN-affiliated drug treatment center in 1991 and later went to work for the ministry.
After Ford threatened to sue TBN in 1998, claiming that he had been unjustly fired, Crouch reached a $425,000 settlement with him. In return, Ford agreed, among other things, not to discuss his claim about a sexual encounter with the TV preacher.

I think I'm going to PUKE. Give us all a break, will you ?
You can't be any more cynical than I am about the "Jim and Tammi" frauds.
And yes...it's a long-shot that responsible broadcasters will pick up
TBN or part of it) if the current scandal brings down the TBN empire.
Too much money is involved.

You'd think God would tell Brother Benny that Nehru jackets went out in 1962.

A couple of years ago I was looking around the PTL/TBN website, and between Jan's gift shop and the pagan temple edifice they were bragging about, I couldn't tell which was worse. The gift shop was selling all sorts of Holy Land trinkets, the kind of stuff you see hawked by local vendors, and you shake your head in disdain. Rocks/sand from Jerusalem, "holy" oil, and other "laughing all the way to the bank" items.
Come to think of it, I saw even worse stuff on a visit recently to St. Pauls cathedral. They must have swapped Paul the Apostle out for Paul Crouch. The spirit of TBN is worldwide.

You are, as a group, a complete bunch of dolts.
Hey all Christian Freepers: Is that talking right out of Mrs. Heinz's playbook (=idiots)!!!

Amen. I nominate R. C Sproul, D. James Kennedy, and John MacArthur. It would be nice to
have some Biblical teaching on TBN
That's about what I was driving at.
And I don't blame some folks for being cynical at my hope that such
a "coup" might happen.
There have been too many scandals in the field of Christian-oriented broadcasting
for anyone to not approach the subject while holding your wallet.

If your Holy Spirit is as intelligent as you claim, AND you're so in tune with the
Alimghty, THEN why do you folks constantly get involved with scandals like this,
or worse yet, have to have a Marine Sargent's Boot up your But to try to get you
folks in VOTE in a Presidential election.
Patton@Bastogne,
you really should do a call-in with Frank Pastore on his radio show
(www.kkla.com).
I think the two of you would make for a chapter in talk-radio history!
I'm being sincere; one of Pastore's major raps is his push to get the
evangeli-fish to register and to vote.

Um, Paul and Jan Crouch are from Missouri, IIRC. Not even a move to the great state of California could cure the ills they brought with them.

My favorite is when Jan blubbers endlessly (and borderline psychotically) about 'little baby Jesus'
As for Paul's suit in that picture, he looks like the Maitre D at a Fire Island bathouse.

Then why did Paul Crouch try to cover it up with $425,000 in hush money? That's not the way ANYONE with half a brain would respond to a threat like that.

Amen. I nominate R. C Sproul, D. James Kennedy, and John MacArthur. It would be nice to have some Biblical teaching on TBN rather than the lunacy of Jan and Paul and their guests. I've watched the program a few times with total incredulity and can only conclude that it is a complete abomination.
Actually Dr. D. James Kennedy is on TBN three or four times a week: A "lonely voice in the Wilderness," who is speaking up for America's family values: Supreme Court Judges "runaways",W's nomination of judges that the dims are filibustering. One man/One woman = marriage, Patriotism, Government spendings, Trial lawyers, ACLU, and mostly he is in line with the issues that seems to of minds of many Freepers??? R.C. Sproul is teaching at Knox Seminar founded by Dr. D. James Kennedy!!!

WOULD JESUS WEAR A ROLEX ON HIS TELEVISION SHOW
Ray Stevens
Woke up this mornin' turned on my TV set
There in livin' color was somethin' I can't forget
This man was preachin' at me.. yeah.. layin' on the charm
Asking me for 20 with 10,000 on his arm
He wore designer clothing and a big smile on his face
Selling me salvation while they sang Amazing Grace
Asking me for money when he had all the signs of wealth
Almost wrote a check out.. yeah.. but then I asked myself
Would He wear a pinky ring, would He drive a fancy car
Would His wife wear furs and diamonds, would His dressing room have a star
If he came back tomorrow there's something I'd like to know
Would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show
Would Jesus be political if he came back to earth
Have his second home in Palm Sings.. yeah.. but try to hide his worth
Take money from those poor folks when He comes back again
And admit He's talked to all those preachers who said they'd been-a talking to Him
Would He wear a pinky ring, would He drive a fancy car
Would His wife wear furs and diamonds, would His dressing room have a star
If he came back tomorrow there's something I'd like to know
Could ya tell me - Would Jesus wear a rolex
Would Jesus wear a rolex
Would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show
Would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show
